Dell Software Data Protection

The line of the solutions Data Protection Dell Software, includes four functional directions:

• NetVault is a product family for backup and the guaranteed data recovery at approach of emergency situations.
• vRanger is the solution for data protection of VMware allowing to execute immediately backup and recovery of physical servers and files of Windows at the minimum requirements to amount of memory.
• AppAsure is the means of backup focused on recovery in the environment of Windows and in short terms the providing reliable functioning of infrastructure and number of server applications.
• NetVault LiteSpeed is the solution for deduplication of the MS SQL environment allowing to reduce the volume of the copy and to reduce backup time.

2015: There was a version of Data Protection/Rapid Recovery

On October 28, 2015 the Dell company announced the version of software of continuous backup of Dell Data Protection/Rapid Recovery^[1].

At the heart of functionality of a packet of technology of AppAssure Software company. AppAssure Software developed solutions on the basis of instant pictures, backup and recovery using replication and the built-in functions of deduplication and compression.

Representation of technology (2015)

Was vRanger software for agentless backup of virtual machines of VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and the physical Windows Server servers a part of Rapid Recovery. vRanger in combination with Data Protection/Rapid Recovery performs the Rapid Snap for Virtual function for protection of virtual environment of VMware without agents and automatic detection and activation of backup of the new virtual machines started on a host of VMware of ESXi (in future release this function will support also Hyper-V hosts).

For storage of backup copies use of a repository of Rapid Recovery Repository (R3) as which platform serve prefixes of backup Dell DR is admissible.
