2021: Entry into the European market
In the middle of January, 2021 the Swiss company Distalmotion announced an output to the European market of the surgical Dexter robot which as the producer claims, works with any laparoscopic tools.
Though the robotic laparoscopic surgery is widely available now, for work of these systems the special tools provided by the producer usually are required, and their choice is very limited in comparison with a broad spectrum of traditional laparoscopic tools. The Distalmotion company solved this problem.
The robotic Dexter platform was designed so that it could be entered into operational space when the surgeon needs to increase accuracy, maneuverability and ergonomics of separate procedures easily. At the same time transition from robotic surgery to laparoscopy under control of the surgeon substantially comes down to that the doctor got up from the console and took tools so transaction continues to go under the own steam. Dexter is also delivered with own disposable 8-millimeter tools for routine use at section and suture.
Distalmotion claims that Dexter can be used together with any commercial laparoscopic system that allows to integrate any existing or future technologies of visualization. And the console of the robot can be lifted and lowered as a table-top that the surgeon could work sitting or standing.
Dexter already attracted huge interest in surgical community, and we look forward to an opportunity to bring it to the market, - the CEO of Distalmotion Michael Friedrich told. - I hope that shortly each patient will get access to advantages of robotic surgery.[1] |
