2023: Product Announcement
On October 17, 2023, the Russian company Defense Group-UTTA announced the development of the Dragonfly unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), designed to detect and eliminate mines with remote electronic detonation. In addition, the drone can be used to search for electronic devices on the ground, including people equipped with passive electronic tags, in snow blockages, forests, etc.
Drone has a quadcopter design. It is equipped with a navigation system receiver/, GPSGLONASS as well as a camera that provides a video stream resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The mass is about 12 kg, the maximum flight speed is 50 km/h. The battery charge is enough for 50-55 minutes in the air. Three modes of operation are implemented - automatic, semi-automatic and manual., In particular, Drone it can move along a route containing up to 99 points.
The UAV carries a non-linear transition detector on board. If there are mines with an electronic fuse on the ground, then red marks appear on the operator's monitor screen. A TNT ball is fixed on the Dragonfly, which can be dropped to detonate the detected mines. The drone can be used at a distance from the immediate line of combat contact - at a depth of 15-20 km.
Among the features of the drone, the developer highlights the high pace of monitoring the area, the possibility of subject inspection of the territory (by freezing), the high accuracy of determining the coordinates of the detected explosive device and the transfer of data to the control point in real time. Dragonfly can also be used to detect electronic control units for various purposes. The kit includes four pairs of batteries and a charger.[1]
