ECOD is developed in compliance with requirements of ECR-Rus and is characterized by low total cost of ownership, support of all data types and all types of their transfer.

Active work of development of the Russian standards of electronic exchange of business documents based on the international standard EANCOM and to creation of infrastructure of Electronic Data Interchange in Russia is performed by ECR-Rus association (Efficient Consumer Response is the Effective response to requests of consumers).

Task of ECR in Russia, as well as in the world — optimization of a supply chain through joint efforts of producers, suppliers and retailers for the purpose of reduction of material and time expenditure in the course of the goods delivery, increases arrived, optimization of warehouse transactions, price policy, the range and improvement of service quality of the end consumer.

The technique allowing to achieve considerable reduction of costs, increases arrived and reductions of the final price of products in a supply chain are also carried by the name Efficient Consumer Response. Implementation of electronic exchange of business documents for optimization of data collection from a point of sale and order placement on delivery – one of the basic principles of a technique of ECR. Composition

ECOD consists of several functional modules:

• The module of communications providing channels of access to functionality of electronic exchange of documents
• The module of conversions providing conversion of electronic documents of different formats
• The billing module which is responsible for collecting and data processing, ECOD allowing to calculate the cost of use,
• The data warehouse collecting and storing data of all modules
• The web module providing interactive exchange of electronic documents for small and medium-sized companies in the web environment.

Technology platform of ECOD is Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. As the data warehouse the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and the file system is used. The system interface is the web browser working at the IIS platform (Internet Information Server) using ASP .NET technologies. Integration level is implemented using programs and scripts of MS Windows of 2000 Server.

The core infrastructure of ECOD is located on 2 servers. One functions as a communication server (IIS, the web application), on the second server BizTalk, MS SQL and – in case of need – the billing Module is established.
