EMC Data Domain Boost (DD Boost)

In April, 2012 EMC announced new integration of the EMC Data Domain Boost systems (DD Boost) and Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN). Software DD Boost provides advanced integration of storage systems of EMC Data Domain with deduplication of data and applications for bigger efficiency of backup and recovery of information. DD Boost distributes a part of process of deduplication on the database server of Oracle and allows RMAN to manage directly Data Domain deduplication. Most of database managers of Oracle prefer to use Oracle RMAN for direct control of backup and recovery of databases.
