EcoStruxure Building Operation (ранее StruxureWare Building Operation)

EcoStruxure Building Operation (before StruxureWare Building Operation) is the program of complex monitoring, management of energy and all functions of life support of the building on blueprint stages and constructions.

2020: EcoStruxure Building Operation 3.1

On May 14, 2020 the company Schneider Electric announced release EcoStruxure Building of Operation 3.1 – updates to the to management system for buildings. Among the appeared functions and opportunities — improved access to to data, simplification of installation and deployment, raised cyber security and also support mobile application of EcoStruxure Building Engage.

Support of mobile applications and development tools:

• EcoStruxure Building Engage is the free mobile application available in Google Play and Apple App Store allowing the user to manage temperature, speed of fans of a system, a lighting system and curtains or blinds directly from the smartphone. The application works together with RP-C controllers (Room Purpose Controller).
• Automated Engineering Tool is the instrument of the automated development designed to increase quality and speed of design thanks to creation of templates and their subsequent application by development of systems, we will combine with EcoStruxure Building Operation 3.1.
• Project Configuration Tool is the autonomous platform allowing to configure architecture of solution and servers in virtual environment to simulate system deployment from office without the need for physical access to the equipment and a visit on an object, it is also compatible to EcoStruxure Building Operation 3.1, emphasized in Schneider Electric.

According to the statement of the developer, within development of functionality in providing to end users bigger amount of information and simultaneous simplification of "communication" with a system, additional functions are implemented:

• Simplification of activation of licenses: activation of the license for Enterprise Server automatically activates it on all connected controllers. Need of activation on each controller disappeared that strongly saves time and simplifies setup of a system.
• Quick access to trends and parameters: in the provided version the trends and parameters for which they are responsible can be browsed directly from the menu of an alarm.
• The improved user interface thanks to additional opportunities of setup: interface dark mode, optimization of a font and icons for convenient display on different devices, an opportunity to select general-system colors of the main menus for compliance to corporate standards of the organization, the choice of display of parameters in international or local measuring systems, an opportunity in the presence of the appropriate rights to make logging manually (for example, for the equipment which is not connected to a system) and many other things.

According to the developer, the cyber security can become one of key factors when choosing a management system for the building. Following the increasing requests of users, functions were added:

• Change control function: it is possible to configure "digital signature" – in need of making changes it will be required to specify the login and the password and also the reason of changes.
• Alarm in unsuccessful attempts of authentication: the number of attempts can be set in a system.
• Function of reset of the password without the need for physical access to the server.

For system deployment acceleration:

• Support of several versions and architecture with upgradeability only of those parts of a system in which new features will be used.
• Support of user preferences when the user can use the configuration set by the administrator without the need for independent configuring.
• Adding of an object group instead of need of adding on one.

As of May, 2020 EcoStruxure Building Operation 3.1 is available worldwide. For the clients who are already using EcoStruxure Building Operation of version 3.0 or above, updating up to 3.1 free.

2014: StruxureWare Building Operation v1.5

On July 17, 2014 the Schneider Electric company announced release of StruxureWare Building Operation v1.5.

As a part of the version of updating of scaling, the increased computer protection, means of effective engineering, transition from the Satchwell Sigma platform, expansion of protocols of communication, registration of a product, support of additional Microsoft products.

The solution SmartStruxure provides support of big management systems for the building with a connectivity to 250 automation servers (Automation Server) on one server of the enterprise (Enterprise Server) – double increase in scalability in comparison with the previous versions.

This release includes the updated technical document according to architectural recommendations (Architectural Guidelines 1.5) which contains notes on scaling and engineering. This document supports more detailed (and updated) information on a system and allows to understand better design methods of the solution SmartStruxure for specific objects.

In version 1.5 a number of new enhanced capabilities of information security support is implemented; some of them allow to execute transactions on objects:

• Change of admin password (admin) on the password which is not used by default; otherwise abnormal warning is automatically generated.
• Activation and installation of timers of automatic leaving the system for prevention of access for unauthorized persons.
• Loading of certificates for implementation of connection with use of the HTTPS protocol for ensuring safe interaction as the unprotected communication under the HTTP protocol is not resolved any more.
• Transition to the newest option of network monitoring on the basis of SNMPv3 protocol (in connection with failure from support of the unprotected versions of SNMP v1 and v2) and many other things.

StruxureWare Building Operation v1.5 switches on several effective tools, for example, implementation of the server of configuring of projects (Project Configuration Server – PCS) that allows to execute autonomous engineering, i.e. engineering and configuring of the project offline. Programming of automation servers and the server of the enterprise in a standalone mode allows to save time and to cut down costs. The made projects can open on online servers. After deployment the changes should be made on the operating object.

Version 1.5 provides the software support necessary for transition of the customers using the Satchwell Sigma platform on the solution SmartStruxure. It includes data translation support (for example, files of points (point file), files of a configuration of magazines of registration (log configs), network) and expansion of objects due to adding program and hardware of the solution SmartStruxure to the existing Satchwell Sigma object. Transfer of customers to the solution SmartStruxure minimizes risks, minimizes a downtime of an object, minimizes the total costs of upgrade of the systems of an object.

Registration of a product (Product registration) is the new feature implemented in the version of v1.5, entering the SmartStruxure Solution Connect project. It executes collecting of a basic information about a product and also data on where it is set and by whom it is used. Registration of a product is the widespread function used upon purchase of the software and expensive products. The Schneider Electric company created the web portal on which partners of the company, branches and end users can enter the queried information.
