2025: Start of Production

At the end of April 2025, the Kaliningrad automaker Avtotor announced the start of production of two models of compact electric vehicles under the Eonyx brand as part of technological cooperation with partners. The company is already producing an experimental batch of electric cars, working out technologies and engineering solutions for adapting the basic equipment to the potential needs of the Russian market.

According to Interfax, new models of electric transport are focused on use in city services, delivery services, industrial areas and airports. The official presentation of electric cars is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025, within which the recommended prices for both models will be announced.

First Eonyx-branded electric car

The first copies of Eonyx electric vehicles are produced on one of the lines in the pilot production workshop of the Avtotor plant. In 2025, their production will be launched at a new plant, which is preparing to be launched as part of a project to produce electric vehicles and auto components. This project is being implemented on the basis of a special investment contract between Avtotor, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the government of the Kaliningrad region.

The new plant will use a robotic line based on AGV platforms. The plant's production facilities will also include an automated line for welding and painting frames and body panels. The design capacity of the new enterprise will be up to 50 thousand compact electric vehicles per year.

Eonyx cars will be equipped with electric motors, inverters, gearboxes, electronic systems, batteries and other components, the production of which is launched at new plants created at Avtotor. The level of localization of the production of these components and the technical characteristics of the models will be disclosed later.[1]
