Esri Maps for Office

The Russian company Esri CIS announced release of the analytical module Esri Maps for Office allowing business users to visualize data, creating and publishing interactive maps directly in Microsoft Office applications. Esri Maps for Office provides decision support due to application of the space analysis. The module is built in the "cloud" cartographic ArcGIS Online platform and is available to free downloading for the version of Microsoft Office 2010.

Using Esri Maps for Office business users can create quickly interactive maps directly from the tables Microsoft Excel. These cards form on the basis of any space focused data, for example, on location of clients or sales volumes in this or that region; they can be added easily to the presentation of Microsoft PowerPoint or to publish in ArcGIS Online. Thus after the publication in ArcGIS Online map will become available to users in the organization. Also these cards can be built in mobile - or web applications. Let's remind also that on ArcGIS online also the Russian satellite pictures are published.

Interactive maps and the presentations allow to detect the hidden earlier important factors influencing business and to visually provide ways of its further development. At the same time from the user specific knowledge in the field of GIS technologies will not be required – he can just continue to work in the Microsoft Office environment, usual for himself. For creation of cards users can use ready basic cards and templates from the extensive library which is available in ArcGIS Online.
