On November 9, 2022, the Zyfra group of companies brought to the market digital advisers to driving dump trucks - a recommendation service for the careful operation of quarry equipment. The development in the field of artificial intelligence was presented by VIST Group (part of the Zyfra Group of Companies), a Russian representative of digitalization of the mining industry.

The company has produced 3 advisers: a truck design durability advisor, a tire walking advisor, and a fuel consumption advisor. In real time, they tell the driver how to drive to use less fuel, wear the tires less, and choose the optimal route and driving mode to reduce the accumulation of fatigue damage to the dump truck carriers. Recommendations are displayed directly on the dashboard of the dump truck. There is also an option to embed a voice advisor at the request of the customer and display recommendations on additional screens. Working with prompts does not require special training of personnel.

Our team began developing advisers in early 2022, and the first industrial tests began six months later, in June. The advisers were successfully "tested" at four large mining enterprises in Russia. By the end of 2022, they will be tested at the quarries of four more companies, - said Dmitry Sizemov, technical director of VIST Group.

The first product implementations are scheduled for early 2023.

Our experts have calculated that the life of the frame and suspension of the dump truck can be increased by 40% by reducing the number of fatigue damages. The durability advisor significantly reduces the cost of repair and spare parts and increases the life of components and units of equipment. Industrial tests have also shown that another advisor, fuel and lubricant consumption, can reduce specific fuel consumption by up to 6% by recommending optimal speed on the road. The third adviser reduces tire wear by an average of 4.5%, - said Sergey Emelchenkov, General Director of Zyfra Group of Companies, about the effects of the recommendation service.

Digital advisers also help to form a driver rating, as they control the driver's implementation of each issued recommendation. For example, for failure to comply with the proposal for the optimal route and speed, the driver's rating is reduced. Management receives rating statistics for further HR work.
