2025: Product Announcement
The American robotic company Figure has demonstrated the capabilities of its humanoid robot Figure 02, which is able to independently load laundry into a washing machine without human help. The CEO of the company, Brett Edcock, showed the work of an android at home, where the machine performed household tasks using technology. artificial intelligence Figure announced this at the end of July 2025.
According to Interest Engineering, the Figure 02 robot is an improved version of the previous Figure 01 model, which was only capable of simple operations such as folding boxes or controlling a coffee machine. The new model demonstrates significantly more complex motor functions.
In the presented video material, the robot loads items of clothing into the washing machine in turn, performing each movement slowly but with high accuracy. Android movements are characterized by smoothness and dimension, which indicates a high level of motor control software.
Some users of the social platform X have suggested remote control of the robot. However, Edcock strongly denied these claims, confirming the fully autonomous operation of Figure 02 using Helix's own artificial intelligence model.
The California-based company plans to sell its artificial intelligence technology to other robot manufacturers in the future. Such a strategy could expand the application of Figure's developments in the robotics industry.
Figure is actively collaborating with OpenAI to ensure that robots understand voice instructions. Partnering with the tech giant allows androids to process commands that arrive verbally, making it much easier to interact with users.[1]
