2020: Announcement

At the end of March, 2020 Fitbit provided Charge 4 — the first fitness tracker with the built-in GPS module. Innovation is supplied with the touch display, the inductive button for management (unlike the traditional button, it plunges into a side part of the tracker and vibrates at operation) and also a smooth waterproof cover.

Unlike the predecessors who for registration of metrics need a binding to GPS phone Charge 4 uses own built-in GPS. Earlier this function was used only in more expensive smartwatch. The built-in GPS means that the tracker will estimate the passable distance much more precisely.

Charge 4 is capable to work without recharge within a week, but generally this term depends on intensity of use. Besides, at constantly included GPS (for example, in a campaign or on a long trip), the term of independent operation of the tracker is only about five hours.

Besides, the new fitness tracker is integrated with Spotify, allowing to manage music directly from the device. Fitbit was also added by an indicator of "minute of a fissile region" which monitors efforts of the user throughout each training depending on pulse.

Besides, Charge 4 can integrate with the application Fitbit for viewing the thermal card. So the user receives visual reflection of intensity of the training on the basis of zones of a warm rhythm along all route. This function allows the user to develop a route with different landscapes under the requirements.

As well as Charge 3, Charge 4 is equipped with the sensor for measurement of level of oxygen during the night. It helps to reveal patterns of breath which can indicate such frustration as apnoe in a dream.

The cost of the new fitness tracker according to the preorder is $149.95, new addition in a line of Charge will officially go on sale on April 13, 2020.[1]
