2019: Focus smart glasses launch

At the end of August 2019, North began selling Focals smart glasses that support displaying notifications from an Android smartphone.

The wearable device allows you to delete or archive emails in Gmail, as well as do reposts on Twitter without taking your smartphone out of your pocket.

North starts selling Focals smart glasses

According to the developers, notifications from applications that were implemented in North Focals made smart glasses more convenient, since users do not need to contact the phone once again.

The image is displayed on the lens of the glasses using a miniature project built into the right bow. The picture is reflected from the glass and transferred to the iris, creating a hologram effect. You can control the gadget using a special joystick in the form of a ring, as well as using the Amazon Alexa voice assistant.

To activate the function, you need to go to the Experiments section in the Focals application. The innovation is available only to owners of Android devices. The timing of the implementation of the function in iOS is not reported.

North notes that the functionality of smart glasses is constantly increasing. They can display incoming messages, time, navigation and weather.

The manufacturer claims 12 hours of battery life of the device and draws attention to the presence of "smart" algorithms. They determine when the user is surrounded by people and communicates with them, and put the glasses into automatic blocking of incoming notifications. As soon as a person finishes the conversation, full functionality returns.

By early September 2019, Focals points are worth $600. If you need a version with diopters for short-sighted and far-sighted, then you need to pay $200 extra. It is possible to choose the color of the frame (+ $100), the basic modification is black[1]
