On April 22, 2024, it became known that a complex called "Friday" was developed in Russia, designed to protect important and large-scale objects from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The system is based on specialized software.

According to the developers of the platform in an interview with RIA Novosti, the complex is designed to protect industrial enterprises and other large structures from enemy drones. The system can also be used in the area of ​ ​ a special operation.

We must understand how we work on a drone, based on the specifics of the types of UAVs, without wasting time. The Friday system helps you choose the optimal type of exposure based on different factors. We have learned the best from industry and cybersecurity, merging everything together and thus getting the opportunity to control disparate devices in large areal facilities, - said the creators of the platform.

The project participants do not go into details about the characteristics of the Friday system for security reasons. Military expert, captain of the first rank of the reserve Vasily Dandykin spoke about the principle of operation of the complex to the publication "Лента.ру." According to him, electronic warfare (electronic warfare) is involved, which allows disorienting enemy drones.

Head of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes of the PRUE im. Plekhanova, expert of the Association of Military Political Scientists Andrei Koshkin adds that the new complex will be able to protect not only strategically important, military and civilian facilities, but also logistics routes.[1]
