Fujitsu FlexFrame Compact

The Fujitsu company presented a new solution of FlexFrame Compact which will allow the companies of medium business to increase efficiency of their work with business applications of SAP. According to developers, the solution allows to reduce total ownership cost SAP systems to 60%.

The solution FlexFrame Compact is a new initial version of the virtualized dynamic infrastructure of FlexFrame which is used in more than 250 large companies for the purpose of optimization of their computing environments for a SAP-applications (including servers, virtual machines, storage systems and network solutions) and also expense reductions.

FlexFrame Compact for SAP optimizes operation of applications, such as SAP Customer Relationship Management, SAP of Supply Chain Management and SAP Product Lifecycle Management, increases their high-speed performance and provides high degree of availability. The solution distributes free system resources according to current demands, providing continuous optimization of performance of computing environments of SAP.

Developed for the small companies with requirements for overall performance to 10,000 SAPS (SAP Application Performance Standard, the unit of measure of performance of SAP applications equal of 200,000 instructions of the command line which are completely processed within an hour) that is equivalent to about 10 systems with the working SAP-applications, the solution FlexFrame Compact can be deployed in full-scale infrastructure of FlexFrame, providing the built-in resources for further expansion. Thus, FlexFrame Compact for a SAP-applications represents the platform for perspective development of "cloud" computing environments of mid-size companies as it meets the main requirements for flexibility, efficiency and reliability, note in Fujitsu.

Thanks to optimization of information resources of the solution Fujitsu FlexFrame allow to reduce the total ownership cost (TCO) of SAP systems to 60%. More effective use of information infrastructure promotes decrease in capital costs while operating costs are reduced thanks to reduction of number of physical servers, and all of them are administered automatically.

The business operations executed by means of a SAP-applications are protected by the functions of high availability which are built in the solution FlexFrame that allows to do without application of software tools of third-party producers for environments of SAP. All components of infrastructure Fujitsu FlexFrame are checked and established at the plant, optimization of the solution under needs of the specific customer is performed in the same place that reduces time of commissioning to several days.

According to Jens-Peter Seik (Jens-Peter Seick), the senior vice president for product development of Fujitsu Technology Solutions, in the last seven years the infrastructure solution FlexFrame helped the large organizations to rebuild the IT infrastructures by means of virtualization of applications which was rather flexible and dynamic technology for satisfaction of constantly changing business needs. "The release by Fujitsu company of the solution FlexFrame Compact for a SAP-applications which was result of its close cooperation with SAP company extends the specified opportunities to the organizations of the average size, facilitating it carrying out business transactions thanks to simplicity of management and implementation of virtualization", - Jens-Peter Seik notes.

The director of informatization of K+S Group company Ulrich Lamp confirms Jens-Peter Seik's words.
