2025: Service Center Announcement
A service center for drones will appear in Russia in 2026, the press service of GLONASS JSC told TASS. The service center will be able to service over 2 thousand drones per year. This was announced on August 12, 2025 by the press service of Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications.
| The service center of GLONASS JSC for drones will start working in 2026 and will be able to service more than 2 thousand drones per year. Such a center will become a platform for comprehensive equipment of drones within the framework of the created unified identification system based on the ERA-GLONASS state information system. In addition, the service center will serve small aircraft, public transport and special equipment, the organization said in a statement. |
The center will equip vehicles with satellite navigation equipment and tachographs, as well as connect them to a communication system based on ERA-GLONASS. Annually, the center will be able to serve more than 2 thousand small aircraft and air pilots, as well as over 1.5 thousand units of public transport and special equipment.
| The center will become a driver for the development of digitalization of the entire transport industry, will ensure the safety of transport operation in agriculture and forestry, in construction. In the Kaluga region, there are the necessary competencies that allow introducing the technologies of GLONASS JSC and developing existing ones, including within the framework of the implementation of federal legislation, "said Dmitry Razumovsky, Deputy Governor of the Kaluga Region, Chairman of the Public Council of the Digital Russia party project. |
It is noted that the center of GLONASS JSC will become a platform for interaction between regional executive bodies, control and supervisory bodies and other organizations on the introduction of technologies and the use of ERA-GLONASS technical infrastructure throughout the country.
As Anton Nemkin emphasized, the center will speed up the introduction of technologies into the transport industry and increase the level of safety during the operation of unmanned systems.
According to the deputy, the launch of the center will also create conditions for the large-scale introduction of unmanned technologies in various spheres of the economy.
He stressed that the creation of such a center in the Kaluga region demonstrates the readiness of Russian regions to adopt technological innovations.
