GS Electric is a line of GS Group supercondensers. All their components and also drives of the company are developed and manufactured from domestic raw materials in Russia in the city Gusev of the Kaliningrad region.
Supercondensers are elements of accumulation of the electric power which, unlike electrochemical accumulators, are almost instantly loaded and give the electric power, quickly compensating capacities in tens of megawatts. They work with broader range of temperatures (-60-+125 °C and above) without service during all service life - not less than 15 years. Cycles of a charge and discharge of devices - not less than 100 thousand times without considerable deterioration in characteristics, unlike 7.5 thousand cycles for Li-Ion-accumulators.
2020: Unique completely Russian device for uninterrupted power is created
The water and alkaline supercondenser on the basis of nanocarbon fabric of production GS Group successfully passed test in Testpribor laboratory. The product of holding passed tests which confirmed its compliance to the technical characteristics declared the producer within 2.5 months. Reported about it in GS Group on July 27, 2020.
The GS Group supercondenser has potential to accumulate a big charge and to provide the high speed of return of the electric power - from 0.3 seconds. The product, as well as the drives GS Group, has two types of electrolytes: water and alkaline and water-salt. Unlike organic electrolytes which are used in the majority of the devices presented at the world market water - eco-friendly, fire and explosion-proof, developers state. Thanks to it supercondensers and the drives GS Group are safe for human health and the environment and do not require special conditions for utilization. Water electrolyte exceeds organic on conductivity and in combination with carbon nanomaterial provides the high speed of operation of the device. Distinctive feature of the supercondenser is availability of nanocarbon fabric - unique development of GS Group.
Special construction of cells of supercondensers and drives together with the module of power electronics of development GS Group allow to align voltage on battery cells and to stabilize output characteristics of current and tension. Use of nonmetallic electrodes of own development solves a problem of corrosion and considerably reduces device cost.
Be used supercondensers and drives of energy GS Group can on transport, in power, a power equipment and no break power supply systems. They can be applied in devices of engine start of petrol and diesel transport (passenger, cargo, specialized), hybrid electric vehicles, electric transport batteries, engines of trains, etc. and also at construction of charging stations to the electric transport.
The generation companies can use supercondensers for creation of the systems of compensation of peak consumption of power, and on the basis of drives to create the systems of accumulation of the electric power.
Our developments can be applied as self-contained units of a power supply of road objects, a source of short-term power supply in electronic devices, household uninterruptible power supply units, etc, - note in GS Group. |
Investment volume of the company into development of the technologies which are the cornerstone of the supercondenser was more than 200 million rubles. Investments were performed from own means of holding.
The most part of investments into development is already made. At the moment production is located on available capacities, but it is quite possible that in the long term we invest in building of separate production. Besides, we are open to partnership and are ready to invest in joint projects with the companies making products on the basis of supercondensers and drives of energy or developing technologies in this and adjacent areas, - told TAdviser in GS Group. |
The first prototype of the device was provided in 2018 on PIEF. Before since 2016 development of the water and alkaline supercondenser was performed, after the presentation 2 more years underwent Research and Development, pilot small-lot production was arranged.
The line includes devices with a rated voltage of 12, 24, 36, 48 and 72 V. At the same time production of the customized solutions with a step in 1B is possible. In parallel GS Group developed accumulative modules based on nanoporous carbon material on water-salt electrolyte. These devices in comparison with supercondensers are characterized by higher specific power consumption, but smaller resource potential and big indicators of a self-discharge that limits their scope storage time. Official confirmation of compliance to the stated characteristics allows us to pass to a new stage of implementation of technology, namely to implementation of specific product solutions. Already there are practices and interest in the project from the network and generation companies, producers of the lift equipment and electric special equipment, the systems of generation of the electric power based on renewable sources. Devices are also effectively integrated into the various centralized sources of emergency and uninterrupted power, for example, in medical institutions, manufacturing enterprises, nodal telecommunication objects, - the development director of production of GS Group holding Fedor Boyarkov told. |
As explained TAdviser in the company, it already has several delivery contracts of supercondensers. However with whom they are imprisoned in GS Group TAdviser did not tell, having explained that they are not able to do it under the terms of agreements. The cost of the solution in the company is also not disclosed, noticing only that at an exit to large-lot production its cost will be many times lower Li-ion, but above a mass segment (lead accumulators) that is compensated by the increased life, more effective utilization properties, fire and environmental safety.
Until the end of 2020 GS Group is going to sign some more contracts. At the same time the organization submitted in 2020 the application from the project accumulative to a charging station for electric transport c drives and supercondensers from nanocarbon material for the tender "Energoproryv". In the project of a system with high-capacious and wearproof elements of accumulation of energy and power it is offered to apply both in construction, and in the form of the additional solution for charging stations. Their use allows to distribute evenly consumption of electrical energy from networks of an alternating or direct current, having provided a necessary voltage level and current for an electric vehicle charge.
Let's note that in Russia, in addition to GS Group, there are also other producers of supercondensers. At the same time the Energiya company also performs serial production of water and alkaline condensers. Their developer is the Elton company. Besides, condensers on water electrolytes make Tekhnokor, Elekond and TEEMP companies. Still supercondensers manufacture in Russia such companies, Ultrakondensatora Phoenix, "The Novosibirsk plant of radio components Oxide, Pleskava, NPO Ekond and Esma.
2018: Entry into the market
On May 25, 2018 announced GS Group holding entry into the market of solutions for power industry with a product portfolio under the GS Electric brand. A flagship product of the provided direction of business — the supercondenser based on own innovative developments made from the Russian components. According to GS Group, the company already invested in development of the technologies which are the cornerstone of the device, more than 200 million rubles.
GS Group develops and makes supercondensers under the GS Electric brand with a double electric layer in the innovation cluster Technopolice GS (the investment project of holding in Gusev of the Kaliningrad region). This device — result of long-term research and development of the Nanocarbon Materials enterprise (NUM) as a part of Technopolice GS.
In comparison with other supercondensers presented at the domestic market, the speed of return of energy of devices under the GS Electric brand — 0.3 seconds — are 3.5 times higher. It is reached thanks to a know-how of the NUM enterprise: at the heart of supercondensers — nanocarbon material in the form of carbon fabric, was explained in GS Group. Development allows to accumulate a bigger charge of the electric power in comparison with similar devices in which carbon powder is applied. The first samples of GS Electric supercondensers can provide short-term current values in the range up to 700 Amperes, claim in the company.
All components of supercondensers are developed and manufactured in Russia from domestic raw materials and have low cost value. In construction of GS Electric supercondensers water electrolytes — eco-friendly, fire and explosion-proof — unlike organic which are applied in the majority of the devices presented at the world market are used. Among potential customers of GS Electric supercondensers there are producers of electric and hybrid transport, the enterprises using sources of emergency and uninterrupted power (hospitals, telecommunication companies), households and social objects. Devices are demanded at producers of the systems of power generation based on renewable energy sources, the generation companies and also the power grid organizations for alignment of load graphs of consumers of the electric power. High potential — at a segment of electric and hybrid transport, estimated at the companies.
We are glad to present the competences in power industry acquired for several years at the market. The GS Electric brand will integrate the innovative developments of GS Group in the field of accumulation and preserving of electrical energy and also the system of internal and street lighting which are made by the Prancor plant (as a part of Technopolice GS), and other adjacent directions. Within two years we will put in Technopolice GS pilot small-lot production of a line of GS Electric supercondensers of different capacity and appointment and also the associated equipment (chargers in different form factors, adapters and other).
