2022: Increasing the speed of receiving satellite data using the NII TP complex
The speed of processing requests at Geoportal Roskosmos was reduced to several minutes, while the number of technical means involved in the process was significantly reduced. Ready-made product solutions for Geoportal users are now formed by the Research Institute of Precision Instruments Russian space systems automatic streaming processing complex (APOI) developed by specialists (NII TP, part of the holding "State Corporation" Roscosmos information "). This was reported to the "Russian Space Systems" on December 26, 2022.
This complex is intended for the work of the Federal Fund Earth remote sensing data (FFD DZZ), it is operated by the space operator DZZ Roscosmos - the Scientific Center for Operational Monitoring Lands of Russian Space Systems JSC. In Geoportal's personal account, you can select various levels of image processing domestic space from remote control devices, order and quickly receive them - including using geospatial analysis of the obtained ones. data
The APOI complex, commissioned by Roscosmos State Corporation, performs fully automatic high-speed and high-quality processing of large volumes of archival and operational data from the orbital grouping of high-resolution and medium-resolution DZZ spacecraft: Resource-P, Canopus-V, Meteor-M.
'Dmitry software scientifically Fedotkin, Head of the Development Department of the Technical Complex of NII TP JSC', reports: "The APOI complex improves the automatic geo-binding of information from spacecraft by an order of magnitude and issues DZZ products with an accuracy of binding to units of meters. Now, as part of a single complex, processing levels and types of output products are unified. In addition to standard geo-linked and radiometrically corrected images, the types of products of standard levels appeared: BUNDLE - a geographically combined pair of panchromatic and multispectral shooting and PANSHARP - a snapshot of increased spatial resolution. Both options are available for ordering for the first time, including using. mobile application The service has become massive thanks to fully automatic processing. " |
Statistics on the operation of FPD DZZ showed that as of December 2022, BUNDLE and PANSHARP products account for 78% of all consumer applications: 36% and 42%, respectively. Based on strict mathematical shooting models, the APOI complex will become the algorithmic core of the Digital Earth information system. Its functionality will be a key solution for the operational processing of the growing amount of information coming from the domestic orbital group of DZZ spacecraft.
The platform implementation of the complex provides unified data processing from various survey equipment and spacecraft on a single set of technical means. This makes it easy to modernize it, for example, for radar data, as well as scale it for large streams of information from multi-satellite orbital groupings.
2021: Service launch
In December 2021, Roscosmos launched a website with a publicly available database of satellite images of the Earth. At the time of launch, the archive of planet remote sensing information contains more than 4 petabytes (4 million gigabytes) of data from Russian spacecraft.
Portal users can choose the date of shooting, the detail of the pictures and the equipment with which they were taken. You can get pictures taken at the moment of a certain position of the Sun and under the necessary conditions of cloud cover.
Such data may be required in agriculture, geological and hydrological studies, forest health studies, environmental protection, area planning, and educational, reconnaissance, and military purposes.
Observation from space will allow monitoring the targeted use of land in agriculture, supplying insurance companies with reliable information on insurance cases related to natural phenomena, recording illegal deforestation and unauthorized landfills, and determining the boundaries of developments.
You can place an order for obtaining photographs of the necessary territory online on the geoportal website, while the processing of space data by the new software complex is carried out automatically and makes it possible to receive finished products in your personal account.
It is noted that the main consumers of data with images are state authorities. Geoportal works within the framework of the Digital Earth project.
According to Valery Zaichko, Deputy Director of the Department of Navigation Space Systems (GLONASS) of Roscosmos, by December 9, 2021, an experiment is underway in Russia to create a Unified Information Resource on Land and Real Estate with the participation of Rosreestr and the Ministry of Digital Science and an experiment to create a unified system for monitoring the implementation of national projects with the participation of the Federal Treasury of the Russian Federation.[1]
