2021: System start-up DrivePoint

On August 5, 2021, the company Goodyear announced the launch of DrivePoint, a tire pressure control system. According to Goodyear representatives, air pressure control in tires is extremely necessary to ensure increased mobility, fuel efficiency, as well as optimal mileage and extended service life of tires. With the help of DrivePoint, the company can provide three alternative solutions according to the specific needs of the fleet in order to increase time trouble-free operation and the possibility of early planning of tire maintenance.

DrivePoint is another addition to existing Goodyear bus monitoring solutions, which include, for example, TPMS and Drive-Over-Reader systems. All these solutions are combined as part of Goodyear's Total Mobility comprehensive offering, which also includes buses and a single European service network.

"With DrivePoint, it only takes a few seconds to check the tyre pressure. Regular checks help increase uptime, while increasing fuel efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere. In addition to our other solutions, this easy-to-implement tool will meet the needs of many carriers who want to increase the uptime of their fleets and simultaneously reduce operating costs, "

comments Alberto Villareal, managing director of fleet management and technology solutions for them in Europe.

Easy to install and advanced data access

The Goodyear DrivePoint system includes pressure sensors on the tyre valves and self-powered receivers installed in the fleet area, which instantly read the pressure value in all the tyres of the vehicle when it passes between them.

Collected data are uploaded cloudy storage to Goodyear, providing easy access and reporting through mobile the web application for and - IOS Android Goodyear Fleet Manager. If the pressure is below the recommended level, the fleet manager immediately receives a warning to avoid a possible failure of the tyre, which may cause the vehicle to stop and the cost of troubleshooting.

This solution does not require the removal of the tire, as the sensors can be quickly installed on the valves, which reduces the complexity of the installation and the associated downtime. It is specifically designed for transport and logistics companies that are looking for an easy-to-use but effective way to control tire air pressure.

"DrivePoint offers our customers a cost-effective option to work directly" on the spot. " The system is easy to install and requires minimal subsequent maintenance. This provides the fleet with complete information on the tyre pressure of each vehicle, enabling more efficient maintenance planning. Frequent checks of car tires help reduce the likelihood of unfulfilled deliveries due to car downtime. They also help ensure safety, efficiency and environmental sustainability. We are focusing on providing solutions that deliver results to fleets and add value to their customers, "

added Villareal.
