Cloud Bigtable is the database on the basis of NoSQL, on the platform of the storage system of the same name.
On May 7, 2015 the Google company submitted the high-performance, scalable Cloud Bigtable database compatible to API Apache HBase which is created on the Bigtable platform.
Cloud Bigtable is technology which Google several years use for own purposes. Services of search Google, Gmail and Google Analytics Cloud Bigtable[1] operate on it].
Google announced decrease in latency of Cloud Bigtable to several milliseconds, at a high ratio of performance to the price. By means of support of API HBase Cloud Bigtable it is possible to integrate Hadoop ecosystems with all applications. Cloud Dataflow from Google is supported. Setup of a cluster Cloud Bigtable should take several seconds, at the same time the storage system is automatically scaled to the user's tasks.
Cloud Bigtable is intended for the companies where it is required to process many data.
2016: Cloud Bigtable is available to all
On August 23, 2016 Google announced availability of the managed service by the Cloud Bigtable databases.
The service copes with workloads of petabyte scales. Google considers that it well is suitable for analytical and operational applications, such as analysis of financial data, Internet of Things and the user analytics[2].
