The Pikotekh company announced in July, 2011 a release of new version 1.3.0 of the firm ware of the signal Gyroscope server — the central element of an ecosystem of unified communications of the company.

The signal Gyroscope server is the solution providing functions of processing of signaling information of SIP and H.323; accomplishment of function of registration of the user devices, gateways and servers; control and routing of calls; instant messengers and indications of the network status of users.

Based on industrial standards, Gyroscope is the platform for deep integration of different elements of corporate network of unified communications, such as hardware terminals of a video conferencing (VIDEOCONFERENCING) of own development of the Verb series or similar products of other producers - Cisco and Polycom and also software clients (for example, freely extended SIP client of Linphone who is recently Russified by forces of the company).

According to the company, a possibility of an effective combination within the solution of the proprietary and freely extended products and also existence of high quality maintenance on all these components, leads to significant decrease in total cost of ownership in comparison with solutions on creation of the systems of unified communications of Microsoft or IBM.

Proxying of calls of H.323 (gateway H.323-H.323 mode) and also support of interaction with the "next" controllers of zones ("gatekeepers") for H.323 belong to the main new products in the appeared version of the firm ware. This functionality is demanded by the customers implementing heterogeneous and (or) geographically distributed networks. Other important innovation is the processed service of indication of the network status of users. In the latter case the compatibility issue of different SIP clients (both program, and equipment rooms) regarding support of a uniform information field for indication of the status was solved. As a result, the user had an opportunity to work with the "favourite" exchange service station and to have the unified information environment.

As note in Pikotekh, one of top trends in development of IT of the industry of the last years is development of technologies of virtualization. Following the general trend, the signal Gyroscope server is available in two editions: in the form of a program-hardware complex and in the form of the virtual machine in the Open Virtualization Format (OVF) format. The last option will be interesting to customers from the virtualization which is already developed by infrastructure since it investment and operating costs of solution deployment of unified communications in this case will be much lower.
