2024: Start of sales. Price
In August 2024, the first floating house in Russia with an electric engine was launched. The ship, developed by the Russian company Houseboat, has already found its owner - it was acquired by a resident of Nizhny Novgorod. This housebot is a project that has no analogues in the country, capable of working both on electric traction and on a diesel engine.
According to the developers, the uniqueness of the vessel lies in its ability to roam silently at speeds up to 15 km/h. In this mode, the battery charge is enough for 3.5-4 hours of swimming. When the speed drops to 8 km/h, the battery life increases to 18-20 hours. For longer journeys, a diesel generator is provided that allows the housebot to be in motion for up to 80 hours without refueling.
The weight of the housebot is about 30 tons, and its design is made in the form of a catamaran with two steel floats that provide stability on the water. The living space of the vessel is 43 square meters - this is one spacious space, reminiscent of a studio apartment, with a kitchen, a bathroom and a wood bath. The vessel is equipped with everything necessary for year-round living, and solar panels are installed on the front deck, which can be used to charge batteries.
In addition, the housebot has about 60 square meters of outdoor decks and terraces, allowing owners to enjoy nature and water expanses at all times of the year. During winter, the house freezes into the ice, staying afloat until weather conditions improve, making it ideal for use in both summer and cold seasons.
The creators of the project note that the electric houseboat is an experimental and more expensive solution compared to traditional ships equipped with gasoline or diesel engines. However, it was this option that was chosen by the customer. At the same time, the approximate cost of models with conventional engines starts at ₽5,7 million per vessel with an area of 20 square meters, which gives an idea of the possible price of a unique housebot.[1]
2022: Construction of a marine houseboat
At the end of October 2022, it became known about the construction of the largest floating house in Europe in Russia. This is a project of Houseboat, which specializes in such structures.
The total area of the house is about 600 sq.m., including a living area of 300 sq.m. Weight - more than 135 tons. Housebot is equipped with two 210 hp engines and is capable of speeds of more than 15 km/h on the river and at sea (with a wave of up to 2 meters).
Within a month after the completion of construction, this houseboat will be equipped with the largest amount of equipment we have ever built: autopilot, radar, two control posts, four thrusters, as well as a smart home, supply and exhaust ventilation, warm water floors and many other "pros" that make this houseboat extremely convenient for life and travel, - said the founder of Houseboat Alexander Klimchuk. |
Preparations for launching a house in the Moscow yacht port in the Moscow region lasted about a month. During the descent, one 1200-ton crane lowered the house to the water, and the other two 100-ton cranes additionally serviced the operation of the first crane.
According to the developers, a sea house on water is designed for wintering in ice up to 1 m thick and for comfortable year-round living, and in icebreaker mode it can move through ice more than 100 mm thick.
It is also noted that 80% of the home consists of domestic components. Ships do not require lifting from the water for the winter and freeze into the ice without any problems.
In Europe, there are much more houses on the water than in Russia: in countries such as Germany or the Netherlands, river sections are much cheaper than land, so many prefer to settle on water. A similar format of residential real estate is popular in France, where for permanent residence on the water it is necessary to buy a special permit from the mayor's office, which gives the right to arrange and lay communications to boat houses.[2]
