Launch of versions with blood sugar control
On May 18, 2023, the Chinese company Huawei launched the Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro smart wristwatches, the creation of which paid special attention to health functions.
The new gadgets are said to be the world's first smart chronometers with the ability to assess blood sugar levels non-invasively. To determine the corresponding indicator, a "microphysical examination" is performed for a number of parameters. Among them, in particular, include: blood oxygen saturation, the number of calories spent, blood pressure, ECG, vascular condition, etc.
It is emphasized that the watch does not report accurate blood sugar content: instead, a notification is displayed about dangerous trends that, in particular, can provoke hyperglycemia and result in health problems. Such warnings will be especially useful for people with diabetes who can quickly seek help from a doctor and prevent their condition from deteriorating. To use the blood sugar control function, you need to wear the watch continuously for a long time - this is required to track long-term changes in the user's condition. If signs of danger are detected, the device will give appropriate recommendations for solving the problem. The user, for example, may be asked to revise his diet, excluding certain products from it.
In addition to advanced health monitoring capabilities, Watch 4 series gadgets have new professional sports modes such as golf, freediving, etc. You can also use offline navigation. The watch runs operating system HarmonyOS 3.1, which supports the latest intelligent features.[1]
Product Announcement
On May 9, 2023, the Chinese company Huawei announced the Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro wristwatch, which received a number of innovative functions to track the health and vital signs of the owner's body.
The eldest of the two new products, Watch 4 Pro, is equipped with a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display with sapphire glass, which provides reliable protection against damage. The 48mm body is made of titanium alloy TC4, which is claimed to be three times stronger than conventional titanium. The basic version of the Watch 4 received a 46 mm stainless steel case.
Both gadgets have a sealed version (5ATM), and therefore can be used during water sports. In total, more than 100 training modes are available, as well as traditional fitness capabilities such as counting the number of steps taken, calories spent, etc. A running coach based on artificial intelligence algorithms is mentioned.
A unique watch mode is an assessment of the general state of the body by seven parameters in one minute: a smart chronometer will calculate the heart rate and the level of oxygen in the blood (SpO2), remove the electrocardiogram, determine the body temperature, vascular stiffness and stress load, and also diagnose the state of the respiratory organs. The watch has a completely new function for detecting a user's fall.
The Watch 4 Pro model additionally supports 4G communication thanks to eSIM technology. In addition, this model carries a GPS receiver on board. The declared battery life on a single battery charge in normal use reaches three days for the Watch 4 and 4.5 days for the Watch 4 Pro. The power saving mode allows you to bring these values to 14 and 21 days, respectively. The price of the younger version starts at €450, the older version at €550.[2]
