2024: Huawei Watch D2 announcement with built-in blood pressure blood pressure monitor
In mid-September 2024, Huawei released the Watch D2 smartwatch with a triple-mounted blood pressure monitor.
The new watch is packed in a square aluminum case, replacing the regular button with a rotating winding head. However, there is a function button below the winding head to quickly perform a number of operations. The Watch D2 measures 48 x 38 x 13.3 mm and weighs 40 grams. The device is equipped with a 1.82-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 480 x 408 pixels, 347 PPI and a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits. The smartwatch is available in two colour options, gold and black. At the same time, users can personalize the watch dials using various topics ranging from classic to funny.
Watch D2 synchronizes with smartphones and allows you to track messages, alerts and calls. In addition, they allow you to monitor the user's health status thanks to various Health Glance features that track nine key indicators. Thus, the clock reflects several types of data in the form of understandable graphs and diagrams: the number of steps taken per day, exercises completed, sleep assessment, blood oxygen saturation and other health-related information.
Users can also turn on the automatic BP monitoring feature, which tracks it at regular intervals, including during sleep. The function reflects the average SBP, DBP and heart rate both day and night. To do this, an advanced BP monitoring system called TruSense is used, including a high-precision pressure sensor, a mini-pump and an inflatable cuff. In addition, the watch provides ECG analysis, arrhythmia detection, a special sleep mode with relaxing music and monitoring heart rate, breathing, stress levels and skin temperature.[1]

The Huawei Watch D model offers a large set of features for tracking physical activity and health - this watch supports blood pressure monitoring, can take ECGs and monitors blood oxygen levels. In addition, the watch, according to the developers, is able to independently identify the primary signs of atherosclerosis and arrhythmia. In the coming days, the gadget will go on sale in China, the cost is $469.
Watch D physical activities are conditionally divided into two categories: sports and those that are necessary for each user to support a healthy lifestyle. The watch will offer breath training, a few charging exercises and yoga to its owners. And for those involved in sports, more than 70 different exercise complexes are provided.
Huawei watches will also offer their owner a subscription medical service for monitoring and consulting on food, sleep and physical activity. The user will be able to share the information collected by the clock with doctors, receiving individual plans for nutrition, treatment and sports from them in response. This service will be distributed by subscription in China for $94 per month.
In terms of specifications, the gadget is equipped with a 1.64-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 280×456 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch. The screen is covered with tempered glass and an aluminum alloy frame, and the lower part of the case is made of plastic. The watch has IP68 protection against water and dust. The 451 mAh battery provides 7 days of battery life. Watch D supports wireless charging.
The smartwatch also supports a standard set of applications like message reception, alarm clock and voice assistant. And additional services and dials can be downloaded from Huawei's pre-installed app store. Watch D is compatible with three platforms - Android, iOS and the Harmony operating system.
