We officially launched the Smart Monitoring solution in the fall of 2024. Prior to that, the system was piloted behind closed doors for several years. In just six months after the launch of version 1.0, volumetric feedback from customers was collected, which confirmed in practice the demand for the capabilities inherent in the product. After analyzing the information received, we continued to increase the functionality of the product and added new useful features and "chips" in version 1.1. The release policy assumes the release of fresh versions about once a quarter.

The changes affected the following:

  • In version 1.1 of the Smart Monitoring solution (hereinafter referred to as "Smart Monitoring"), automatic processing of filling and updating of attributes of Configuration Units (CU) during auto-detection is implemented. This will allow specialists to significantly reduce the load of manual input even to a large volume of CU added to the UM system.
  • UM 1.1 can now read and analyze any arbitrary application log files. In other words, restrictions on which logs can be added and processed in the system have been removed.
  • A mechanism for collecting metrics and raw data from the Zabbix monitoring system has appeared. This will allow you to design a smooth transition to Smart Monitoring without the need for revolutionary changes in the existing information ecosystem of the enterprise.
  • UM version 1.1 is able to determine the method of checking availability for KEs of various types and immediately enable constant monitoring of availability in the selected way with minimal manual actions. This will minimize the routine work of specialists in comparing KE of various types with the rules for their monitoring. Almost all work is performed automatically by the UM system.
  • The monitoring line of information systems 1C provided the selection of technological log events for previously created CUs that were generated as a result of auto-sampling. Thus, UM 1.1 understands that KE belongs to the 1C system and automatically adjusts the correct selections.

The list of options for generating and configuring the "Maintenance Report" has been significantly expanded:

  • the ability to select granularity and detail data is implemented
  • viewing and monitoring can now be configured for any selected period
  • added output of charts of calendar CPU usage in the form of heat maps

Updated data collection agents were added under the "hood" UM 1.1:

  • HTTP Connection Monitor - the agent measures the response time to track the availability of web servers and external web resources;
  • DumpMonitor - to diagnose errors, the agent monitors and analyzes memory dump files;
  • SnmpMonitor - the agent allows you to monitor over the SNMP protocol devices that do not support the installation of monitoring agents: network devices, video cameras, MCDS and the like.

After analyzing feedback from the previous version of Smart Monitoring, the company updated the interface and optimized user navigation in the system:

  • Key metrics of the current monitoring perimeter state have been added to the home page
  • the landscape map now displays, among other things, a graph of the distribution of the KE quantity by impact weight.

2024: Finalization of the Smart Monitoring Complex taking into account the current requirements for IP monitoring

On July 29, 2024, IT-Expertise announced the release of an updated version of the Smart Monitoring software complex. Smart Monitoring is included in the Register of Software Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation.

According to the company, the software package for operational monitoring of the IT infrastructure, created more than a year ago, was finalized taking into account the company's experience in monitoring and responding to incidents in the corporate ecosystem.

The updated version of the software complex has absorbed all the current requirements for monitoring information systems, including common domestic solutions. First of all, this concerns solutions on the 1C:Enterprise 8 technological platform. For more than 10 years, IT Expertise has developed and operated various elements of monitoring systems in large corporate implementations of 1C information systems, applying them in future and in technological audits, and in load testing.

Smart Monitoring

"Smart monitoring" is a system for collecting and analyzing technological data that can calculate the state of "health" of the information system, helps to detect and respond to incidents arising in the IT landscape. And thanks to AIOps ideas, Smart Monitoring can predict system behavior and prevent potential accidents in advance.

The solution supports automatic discovery of servers, services and DBMS, which allows you to build an up-to-date map of the landscape in close to real time and find connections between monitoring objects. Also, Smart Monitoring is able to determine the "weight" of each entity connected to it, which helps it calculate both the "health" of the system as a whole and each monitoring object separately.

What is Smart Monitoring?

There were many prerequisites for creating Smart Monitoring. In particular, after leaving the market of foreign manufacturers ON Russian , companies needed a domestic solution that was independent of Western vendors, which could withstand any load and successfully scale to effectively control their own IT ecosystems. At the same time, it was necessary to reduce the cost of supporting the IT infrastructure and facilitate the work of specialized specialists.

IT Expertise's experience in incident monitoring and investigation has created a product that meets all these requirements.

Among the capabilities of "Smart Monitoring:

  • flexible, fast collection of metrics from various sources
  • single database (CMDB) - storing metrics, logs, and data processing
  • gRPC protocol is used to exchange data between the server and the Monitoring Agent
  • artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are involved in monitoring and predicting the behavior of systems
  • detailed analysis of the obtained data allows you to automatically build relationships and promptly investigate incidents

Smart Monitoring Capabilities

According to the developers, "the software complex has everything for effective monitoring," namely:

  • a single center for collecting and analyzing the situation operates at all levels
  • the key figures are always up-to-date - the data is updated almost in real time
  • ability to quickly analyze any monitoring object
  • support for modern domestic platforms and systems
  • to automatically analyze the causes of incidents and optimize the time of incident investigation, use information about the relationships of objects
  • artificial intelligence technologies are used to implement the mechanisms:
    • Prediction
    • Root cause analysis
    • Anomaly detection

  • ability to automatically respond and resolve incidents

With the help of "Smart Monitoring" you can in the mode of a single response center:

Get a complete picture of system health and performance

Data collection at all levels - from hardware components to software applications. Performance, availability, application and DBMS metrics, event log metrics

Identify and diagnose problems

The availability of data from all levels and the established links between them help to quickly determine the source of the problem, be it a hardware failure, application software performance problems or network anomalies.

Optimize system reliability and stability

Through proactive monitoring of all information system components, it is possible to identify potential problems in advance and take preventive measures without waiting for serious incidents. Visualization of the IT landscape map in the form of a graph with health indicators of each configuration unit and the "drill down" function will clearly show problem areas that require attention.

Smart Monitoring

Optimize resource utilization

Analyzing data from different levels allows you to better allocate resources (processor, RAM, disk space), optimize performance, and reduce hardware and infrastructure costs.

Optimize user productivity

Analysis of application and system performance data will help identify and eliminate bottlenecks, optimize response times, and improve user satisfaction.

Optimize the productivity of operating specialists

To facilitate the work of specialized specialists, Smart Monitoring provides automated reports and detailed information indicating the context of the application code.

Maintenance Report

Number of Incindents by Day with Criticality

Smart Monitoring

Automate management and scaling of information systems

Data integration from all tiers automates system management tasks, such as load-based resource scaling, enabling more efficient infrastructure utilization, management By storing event logs and other data, assist in audit and compliance.

The Smart Monitoring system supports:

  • various operating systems and DBMS, including:

  • MS SQL Server PostgreSQL PostgresPro* , , , PostgresPro Enterprise
  • all versions of 1C:Enterprise 8 platform, and most importantly, seamless integration is implemented to collect information, which does not require modification of 1C application solutions
  • The Smart Monitoring system has modest own requirements for computing resources
