The InnerEye project developed by Microsoft Research is designed to help doctors to interpret pictures of a computer tomography and as result, to accelerate work of oncologists in detection of malignancies at the person and their further treatment.

2017: Announcement
On August 11 the Microsoft Research company submitted the InnerEye project designed to help doctors to accelerate work with pictures of internals and tissues of patients.
In the course of a computer tomography a series from hundreds of pictures on which processing at specialists many hours leave turns out. In each picture the doctor should lead round body which will be subjected to chemotherapy that then to recreate the three-dimensional image from these circuits. The doctor usually spends for this procedure several hours while InnerEye does it automatically, spending for creation of a 3D model of bodies no more than 30 seconds. After that the doctor needs only to check results and in case of need to make changes.
Sale of the mechanism of a permanent training of an algorithm on the basis of new data will be the next step for researchers.
When the oncologist makes changes, data go back to a cloud, and we can use them to adjust an algorithm. Process of continuous training turns out — Antonio Kriminisi, chapter of the InnerEye Assistive AI for Cancer project told. — We will never manage to replace doctors, but such means will help them to do their work more effective. |
