2021: Intel vPro of the 11th generation

On January 12, 2020 the Intel company submitted the Intel vPro platform of the 11th generation.

Intel vPro of the 11th generation

According to the company, the Intel processors Core vPro of the 11th generation are based on the solution of Intel for thin and easy notebooks and, in combination with the updated platform, offer users:

  • Intel Hardware Shield, the most complete hardware security system for business products and also the solution for detection of threats integrated on a crystal using artificial intelligence that allows to fight against the attacks of programs encoders and cryptominers. It also includes the Intel Control Flow Enforcement Technology technology helping to prevent the whole class of the attacks which long time did not reveal software tools of security.
  • 10-nanometer Intel SuperFin technology on which the productive graphic system of Intel Iris Xe and also the built-in adapter of Intel Wi-Fi 6/6E is based (Gig+). Intel of Wi-fi 6/6E (Gig+) provides to six times faster loading and downloading of information at the solution of business challenges and to three times faster – when using the house in comparison with Wi-fi technology 5.
  • By eight times more productive artificial intelligence which gives to the companies the chance to go in step with quickly changing software ecosystem and also allows to solve quicker up to 2.3 times problems of creation of content and editing video in comparison with the previous generation.
  • 23% higher performance during the work with such applications as Office 365 and also ampler opportunities for joint work at the solution of business challenges.

Intel also announced the Intel Evo vPro platform integrating notebooks for business. The mobile computers verified on compliance of Intel Evo vPro differ in design, a thin and easy form factor. These devices also offer stable work from the accumulator without decline in production, a fast exit from sleep mode and a progressive tense of independent operation. In 2021 producers of notebooks will produce more than 60 models combining security and ease of management of vPro with Intel Evo opportunities. Besides, Intel announced the Chromebook Intel Evo specifications for chromebooks.

2020: Announcement of Intel Core vPro of the 10th generation

On May 13, 2020 the Intel company provided the Intel processors Core vPro of the 10th generation. Processors for mobile PCs and the desktop systems provide performance improvement, expand connectivities, support the improved safety features and remote control, allowing IT departments to provide to the staff of the companies positive user experience.

According to the company, the Intel vPro platform allows IT departments to help large and small enterprises, maintains good productivity of employees, allows to protect company assets and to simplify management of the park of computers. For May, 2020 Intel continues this work together with further development of the Intel vPro platform. The Intel processors Core vPro of the 10th generation provide productivity, support hardware safety features and form a basis for development of computing innovations.

Systems based on the Intel processors vPro provide to employees the good performance and high-speed performance of a business class necessary for preserving of productivity. They are equipped with the integrated Wi-fi adapter 6 (Gig +) which offers quality of connection at video conferences in Wi-fi networks. In processors technologies for performance improvement and controllability are implemented that allows to solve more effectively these and future user problems. All this can be implemented in different form factors — from devices of the Intel Project Athena program to desktop configurations.

Among improvements in this generation it is possible to note:

  • increase in overall performance of applications for 40% in comparison with notebooks of three-year prescription;
  • increase in productivity of work in office applications for 36% in comparison with notebooks of three-year prescription;
  • acceleration of the analysis and data visualization for 44% in comparison with the desktop system of five-year prescription;
  • almost triple increase in speed of gigabit connection and improvement of network performance in networked environments when using of the integrated adapter of Intel Wi-Fi of 6 (Gig+) offering proper quality of Wi-fi of connection for video conferences;
  • responsiveness of a system, the increased battery life and instant exit from a dream on the notebooks participating in the Project Athena program.
  • To developers of the solutions for the Internet of prophetic (IoT), the Intel processors Core vPro of the 10th generation and Intel Xeon of the W-1200E series based on the Intel vPro platform provide performance of a business class, possibility of remote control and many other things. Thus, they are suitable for use in retail, the banking sector, hospitality industry, in the field of education, health care, on production and in many other industries.

The Intel Hardware Shield technology includes the built-in hardware safety features which help the organizations to prevent cyber attacks — now with the improved mechanism of detection of threats and the additional functions of protection working at level below the operating system and helping to protect critical resources in a system memory.

Supply chain visibility of Intel (Trusted Supply Chain) provides traceability and authenticity of components that gives to customers additional confidence in security.

Computers with the updated Intel processors Core vPro of the 10th generation for the mobile and desktop systems will be delivered by PC makers already in the coming months.

2019: Representation of Intel Core vPro-серии of the 9th generation

On May 28, 2019 it became known of the next processors Intel Core vPro series of the 9th generation.

Intel consistently worked on creation of a processor family, the different needs for business calculations designed to satisfy. In process of complication of workloads more and more powerful computing opportunities for 3D - modeling, design of products, editing multimedia and a set of other tasks are required for many creators of content. Specialists of the sphere of economy of knowledge can also perform data visualization, work with files of high density or start resource-intensive business applications.

The Intel processors Core vPro of the 9th generation are created for similar computing tasks and at the same time provide high stability, controllability and security which are highly demanded in the most different industries.

For satisfaction of different needs for performance and in form factors the Intel processors Core vPro of the 9th generation are offered in series S – for desktop computers and in series H – for bonus mobile systems. Processors of both series are in addition segmented on performance levels which are designated by letters of i5, i7 and now i9.

As shown in figure 1, the Intel processors Core vPro of the 9th generation have up to 8 main cores, graphics of Intel of UHD of the 9th generation, the two-channel controller of memory of DDR4 and the system Intel Q370 Platform Hub controller (PCH). Besides, the specification of the Intel vPro platform allows the producers releasing bonus workstations to use the Intel CM246 PCH controller for expansion of opportunities of storage devices and connection of input devices / output.

The Intel processors Core vPro of the 9th generation (series S) are offered with options of TDP 35, 65 and 95 of W that allows to create on their basis elegant compact desktop PCs, the traditional systems in the "tower" body and modern devices "all in one" with the touch screen. The Intel processors Core vPro of the 9th generation with designation i5 are equipped with 6 one-line cores and have 9 MB a cache memory, i7 processors support 8 one-line cores and have the increased volume a cache memory of 12 MB. The most powerful processors with designation i9 have 8 cores / 16 flows and 16 MB a cache memory are equipped. All powerful and productive options processors support extensive feature set, implemented in the Intel Q370 PCH controller, including the integrated adapter of wireless networks 802.11ac. The improved performance and ubiquity of Wi-fi of network allows to place desktop PCs in any point, irrespective of existence of Ethernet of sockets / cables.

Performance of the desktop systems for mobile workers

The Intel processors Core vPro of the 9th generation (series H) are provided by three versions for mobile systems of the class high-end, and all of them have TDP of 45 W. Processors with designation i5 are equipped with 4 cores / 8 flows and 8 MB a cache, i7 processors support 6 cores of/12 flows and have 12 MB of a cache. The Intel processors Core i9 vPro of the 9th generation have 8 cores, 16 flows and 16 MB of a cache and also support Intel Thermal Velocity Boost3 technology which allows to increase clock rate under certain conditions of work. The platform supports the integrated adapter 802.11ac and also supports Wi-Fi 6 and 4G of LTE by means of discrete parts. At last, Thunderbolt 3 provides additional universality due to convenient connection of docking stations to notebooks using a uniform cable for expansion of peripheral opportunities and creation of working conditions as on desktop PCs.

Created for business

Computing systems in which the corresponding processors provided in Figure 2, and meeting the requirements of the Intel vPro brand are used are optimized for corporate calculations. The persons who are responsible for decision making about acquisition of technologies can use the Intel processors Core vPro™ of the 9th generation in the most different mobile and desktop form factors and manage these endpoints using uniform set the politician concerning security and maintenance. Systems constructed based on the Intel vPro platform assume work with operating system Microsoft Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Enterprise OS.

Platform stability

The Intel Stable Image Platform program provides predictability of transition to other equipment for the enterprises which test devices for performance, compatibility and compliance to requirements in the computing environments. Thanks to complex validation of the different versions of Windows 10 OS performed by Intel and system providers, the companies will be able to avoid problems which can arise at deployment of less stable devices which are not optimized for corporate cycles of purchases or procedures of validation of corporate systems.

Controllability and safety features

The Intel vPro platform offers the companies tools for effective management and helps to protect endpoints. For example, the solution Intel Hardware Shield includes constantly replenished set of technologies which help to reduce the surface of the attack for each platform, and at the same time provide the report on a current status of security for the operating system. These opportunities given on Figure 3 are designed to activate, improve or add the functions and services available in the Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise operating systems.

Optimization for exacting workloads

The Intel processors Core vPro of the 9th generation include the whole packet of technologies for optimization of energy consumption, performance improvement and expansion of network capabilities to arm the employees working with the most resource-intensive workloads (Figure 4). The enterprises updating the computers will be able to take advantage of increase in productivity of the employees.
