New Iomega StorCenter px12-450r Network Storage Array is already available to the order worldwide. The solution is compatible to hard drives of a server class on 1 Tb, 2 Tb, 3 Tb and 4 Tb at the maximum volume in 48 Tb in storage (12 x 4 Tb).

For those who prefer to begin with small volumes of storage Iomega offers packets on four disks with the subsequent expansion to a 8-and 12-disk configuration.

The new StorCenter px12-400r system is compatible to different virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere 5.0, Citrix XenServer, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008R2.

The latest network array from Iomega represents the ideal object of iSCSI providing access at the level of blocks for the most effective use of volumes of data storage. First of all it is about backup, databases and applications of e-mail. Other functions of a business class are provided by support of Windows Active Directory Trusted Domains, Microsoft Cluster Server and Hyper-V Live Migration.

On the new system of network storage StorCenter px12-400r the industry-leading McAfee VirusScan Enterprise antivirus software designed to provide protection of small business and other users from viruses and potentially dangerous threats is installed. Software of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise does not require the external server since it works in endpoints.

Software of EMC Aos Cloud Connector, being included in the delivery, allows to execute backup and to exchange data with use of network systems of Iomega as a source, and a cloud technology of Aos as addressee. If necessary it is possible to configure cloud folders and to configure settings on automatic copying of data in any cloud of Aos.

Thanks to the compatibility with EMC Avamar implemented in StorCenter px12-400r, the industry for the first time received network system of storage with the built-in support of industry-leading technology of deduplication of files which will provide requirements of remote offices / branches for backup.

Besides, StorCenter px12-400r supports the applications of Linux created using Iomega LifeLine Software Development Kit (SDK) available is free.

New Iomega StorCenter can be used with cards on 10GbE that promotes performance improvement and expansion of functionality of network disk arrays. Being the solution for small/medium business and the enterprises with the distributed structure, the new Iomega StorCenter px12-400r disk array and the Iomega StorCenter px12-450r model are compatible to the Broadcom card on 10GbE (10GBASE-T) now. The card of the two-port adapter on 10GbE can be used in arrays of StorCenter px12-400r and StorCenter px12-450r, providing the maximum speed of input-output and fault tolerance for expansion of network functions. The technology 10GBASE-T or IEEE 802.3an-2006 is the cornerstone of this card.

Key features of the network interface card on 10GbE, compatible to new network systems of data storage of Iomega StorCenter, are balancing of loading of two ports on 10GbE, existence of the mode of fault tolerance of NIC, support of several MAC addresses and compatibility with Ethernet ports of 10/100 Mbps and 1/10 Gbps.

Use of the Broadcom 10GbE card with new network Iomega StorCenter px12-400r and px12-450r disk arrays significantly increases input-output performance in comparison with four gigabit ports Ethernet with which px12 systems are equipped in a basic equipment: Robocopy — increase in speed of reading up to 78% and writing rate — up to 105% (with logical consolidation of ports — NIC Port Bonding); IOMeter — increase in speed of reading up to 141% and writing rate — 67% (with NIC Port Bonding).

The Broadcom card on 10GbE for Iomega StorCenter px12-400r and the Iomega StorCenter px12-450r model can be ordered through resellers and distributors. At registration in Iomega for it the three-year guarantee is provided.
