Iomega StorCenter px2-300d Network Storage

The Iomega company expanded a line of solutions for network data storage, having provided two new models: Iomega StorCenter px2-300d Network Storage, the high-performance device for information storage with a capacity up to 6 Tbyte with the Intel processor Atom, and a desktop storage system of the StorCenter family of the ix series of the next generation with four disks. In the nearest future Iomega certifies disks with a capacity of 4 Tbyte for use in both models.

The high-performance solution Iomega StorCenterpx2-300d is delivered both in a diskless configuration, and complete with hard drives with a general capacity up to 6 Tbyte with degree of protection of information of a server class. This compact system providing the high level of performance and data access is optimal for small office, the working group or an advanced home network

StorCenter px2-300d – the only product in the class of devices for network data storage supporting software of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise with function of automatic scanning for virus detection and their removal.

The Iomega StorCenter ix4-300d system has the improved performance, exceeding on this indicator of the predecessor of ix4-300d (Cloud Edition) more than twice. It is issued in several options of configurations, beginning from diskless and finishing network storage with a capacity up to 12 Tbyte. In it technologies of data storage of EMC of a corporate class for a segment of SMB and geographically distributed enterprises are used.

Both network systems of data storage provide protection and access to all types of files as locally, and in the remote mode, with a possibility of use of different options of data storage in a cloud for security and convenience of using, including using Iomega Personal Cloud technology.

New StorCenter px2-300d and StorCenter ix4-300d use EMC LifeLine OS for the general cross-platform access to files with seamless integration of such functions as data protection using RAID, hot swap of hard drives (only in px2-300d), support of the virtualized environment, different options of use of clouds for remote data storage, protection against viruses (only in px2-300d), Active Directory integration, enhanced capabilities of the general use of carriers and other functions. Both products Iomega are delivered with the version of software of LifeLine 3.4. In it also such new features as the improved support of the Active Directory, more advanced EXT4 file system are implemented, support of MySQL Server and video surveillance systems is added.

Among fixed functions these two new products implement:

• the built-in cloud technology with a possibility of the choice between EMC Atmos cloud connector, deduplication of data of EMC Avamar (only for the StorCenter px2-300d model), Mozy Pro, Amazon S3 and Iomega Personal Cloud technology;
• Software of Iomega Personal Cloud for ensuring remote access and the general use based on web architecture which connects StorCenter to other users and/or devices via the Internet;
• expanded storage functions of records and monitoring of records from surveillance cameras, including function of the improved detection of movements and the notification and also support up to 16 cameras on one device in px2-300d and up to 8 cameras on the device in ix4-300d StorCenter NAS.
• expanded replication features of data for protection of files on the connected USB disks or from any network folder, including access by personal invitations to Iomega Personal Cloud;
• cloud protection against accidents when using two StorCenter set on different platforms;
• function of automatic scanning and removal of viruses using software of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise which is included in the delivery (only the StorCenter px2-300d models);
• compatibility with the virtualized environment: certification of VMware, Microsoft Windows Server (Hyper-V) and Citrix XenServer.
• enciphering of volumes for additional data protection from a non-authorized access. (only for the StorCenter px2-300d model);
• the client application Iomega Link IOS for remote viewing and control from any smart device;
• function of simple backup – support of Time Machine for users of OS X and Iomega QuikProtect Apple for users of PC;
• the improved Active Directory integration, including Trusted Domain support;
• drag-and-drop feature of files with news in convenient folders which will be automatically loaded into social networks, including on Facebook, Flickr and YouTube.

StorCenter px2-300d and ix4-300d ensure safety using the integrated software of management of video surveillance of SecureMind Surveillance Manager with function of multichannel monitoring in real time, record of video and video playback from different IP cameras (cameras are not included in the delivery). High capacity of new network attached storages of the given Iomega in combination with functions of archiving of videos and protection against making changes do them by the good solution for collecting and storage of video. With each StorCenter px2-300d and ix4-300d the license for one camera is free of charge delivered.
