As reported, the solution was called Kaspersky Secure Remote Workspace. With its help, companies can build a managed and functional thin client infrastructure based on the KasperskyOS cyber immune operating system for secure connection to VDI (virtual desktop infrastructure). As of September 2022, Kaspersky Secure Remote Workspace can be purchased in Russia.

A cyber-immune thin client allows you to create digital desktops with access to virtual desktops with the optimal degree of protection. The product can be in demand in state, commercial structures, at industrial enterprises, in particular in the field of power, in financial structures and retail. As of September 2022, it is already being purchased for state and medical institutions, as well as organizations in the field of education. In particular, the decision is already used by the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications of the Orenburg Region.

According to Kaspersky Lab, by 2023, more than 5 million thin clients worth about $1.5 billion will be sold in the world, and sales of solutions for virtual environments will reach $2.6 billion. In Russia, in 2023, the markets for solutions for virtualization of workplaces and thin clients for working with them will amount to at least 3 billion rubles.

The main possibilities of the cyberimmune solution:

  • Protect thin clients by default with "innate" security features.
  • Centralized management of thin clients through Kaspersky Security Center: the ability to simultaneously remotely configure up to 100 thousand workstations, add trusted certificates, update software, and quickly recover in case of system failures.
  • The solution runs on the ― TONK TN 1200 hardware platform.
  • Secure connection to virtual desktops deployed in the infrastructure of virtual desktops "Basiz.Workplace" (formerly SCALA-R VRM). There is also the ability to remotely work with physical and virtual desktops running the most common operating systems.
  • Integration with the system for monitoring the actions of privileged users of the NCDS NT ("iT Bastion").
  • Simple migration to thin client infrastructure without increasing the number of specialists due to the use of Kaspersky Security Center as a single management console.
  • Delimit access rights to administration settings. The solution provides collaboration tools through a single management console for both IT and information security professionals.

The shortage of offers from foreign vendors and the inability to renew licenses for certain security components dictate the need to find non-standard solutions. And Kaspersky Secure Remote Workspace becomes such a solution. With it, you can build a functional infrastructure of thin clients and centrally manage the entire fleet of devices. Thanks to the KasperskyOS operating system, thin clients in Kaspersky Secure Remote Workspace have cyber immunity. This eliminates the need to use additional antivirus tools.
