2020: JETvarnish 3D, 3D EVO и 3D Web

On November 30, 2020, Konica Minolta announced the expansion in Russia and Kazakhstan of the MGI line of jet machines designed for ennobling printed materials. Now all models of the line will be available to customers: not only JETvarnish 3DS, but also JETvarnish 3D One, JETvarnish 3D and 3D EVO and JETvarnish 3D Web. MGI solutions are suitable for companies in different areas related to printed materials.

Konica Minolta has expanded the range of MGI equipment for digital ennoblement in the Russian market

According to the company, JETvarnish 3D One and JETvarnish 3DS & iFoil S models have been developed for digital and offset printers producing advertising, representative and publishing products.

JETvarnish 3D One is the most affordable sheet machine in the MGI portfolio. It is designed for continuous and selective lacquering of digital and offset prints, as well as creating a 3D texture using a single varnish for all types of printing. The equipment supports sheets with a format of up to 356x737 mm and a density of 135 to 450 g/m2. The speed of the machine can reach 2077 A3/h. And the thickness of the lacquer layer is from 21 to 116 microns.

JETvarnish 3DS & iFoil S is a more "advanced" version that allows you to perform selective lacquering, including 3D effects, as well as folding in one pass. The maximum sheet format supported by the machine is 364x1020 mm, the density is from 135 to 450 g/m2. The operating speed can reach 2077 A3/h. Thickness of applied lacquer layer varies from 21 to 232 mcm.

JETvarnish 3D and JETvarnish 3D EVO are sheet machines designed for continuous and selective varnishing, texture creation, as well as folding cardboard packaging and other circulation products. The JETvarnish 3D model is distinguished by the ability to use two types of varnish for 2D and 3D applications. In turn, JETvarnish 3D EVO is characterized by an increased format - up to 750x1200 mm, as well as an extended range of material densities - from 135 to 800 g/m2. The maximum operating speed is 4200 B2/h, and the thickness of the lacquer layer is from 7 to 200/232 μm.

The MGI JETvarnish 3D model allows you to work with a wide range of sheet materials, including laminated ones, with a format of up to 52x105 cm and a density of 135-600 g/m2. Work with 57x120 and 64x120 formats is optional.

The model uses two types of varnish or two quick-toggle loops. The former is more economical and is intended for conventional continuous and selective varnishing with a thickness of 3 μm. The second type is suitable for creating 3D textures up to 200 microns thick. Also installed in line with the machine is a module iFoil L, which allows performing digital hot embossing with foil.

The performance of JETvarnish 3D in flat selective varnishing mode reaches 3123 B2/h. When using foil, it reaches 1750 B2/h.

JETvarnish 3D Web, the only roll machine in the MGI portfolio, is suitable for flexotypographies producing labels and flexible packaging. It works with rolled materials up to 420 mm wide and 50 to 400 μm thick and allows you to perform all types of varnishing and folding at speeds up to 42 m/min. The model can apply a lacquer layer with a thickness of 7 to 232 microns.

The MGI JETvarnish 3D model with a foil embossing module iFoil L and pallet feeders is already available for demonstration and testing in the Moscow demosal Konica Minolta. The demonstration can be held both in the showroom itself and remotely online. On request, customer material testing is available on the machine.

2019: Announcement of MGI JETvarnish 3D One

On November 19, 2019, Konica Minolta announced the release of MGI JETVARNISH 3D One, an entry-level digital device for selective UV lacquer.

MGI JETVARNISH 3D One

According to the company, the demonstration model is already available at the Center for Key Competencies in France, and devices will also soon appear in separate Konica Minolta showrooms. The start of sales is scheduled for the beginning of 2020.

MGI JETVARNISH 3D One can be used in the production of books, magazines, business cards, menus, brochures, photo albums, cards and small premium packaging products. This high-tech device allows you to create 2D and tactile 3D effects using universal UV varnish - both flat and embossed varnishing is possible in one run.

MGI JETVARNISH 3D One is a device from the MGI JETVarnish family. With it, you can turn standard printed products into premium, which means you can get more opportunities to enter advertising, marketing, design and other creative markets, including the production of premium packaging.

Among the MGI JETVARNISH 3D One key features and features:

  • Low capital investment and production costs to facilitate financing
  • Adjustable thickness of lacquer layer from 21 to 116 microns in one run
  • AIS scanner for automatic driving without drive marks, without waste on the attachment and with minimum tuning time
  • The MGI software includes a cost calculator, a work manager, and a selective lacquer editor for rapid modification.

In the standard configuration, the MGI technology is presented in combination with Konica Minolta piezoelectric print heads. The application of lacquer can be carried out on both offset and digital materials. The lacquer is dried and fixed using an environmentally friendly LED UV lamp without ozone release. The capacity of the device is up to 2077 sheets of A3 format, the maximum working format is 364x750 mm.

Additional features include personalization and versioning; Automatic PDF converter that converts PDF files to TIFF format and the built-in backlight of the AIS scanner for working with metallized materials.

2014: MGI JetVarnish 3DS

MGI JetVarnish 3DS is an inkjet machine designed for continuous and selective varnishing and hot embossing with foil of prints obtained on offset or digital printing equipment.

According to Konica Minolta as of August 2014, the MGI JETvarnish 3D system creates a three-dimensional effect and adds texture to surfaces using varnish treatment. Precision piezoelectric print heads reproduce 0.5 mm wide ultra-thin lines and provide uniform varnish coating on large areas of the imprint surface. The varnish is fixed using LED UV sources - this allows you to get a dry impression immediately after leaving the machine.

MGI JetVarnish 3DS, 2014

JETvarnish 3DS allows you to selectively lacquer digital printed materials, highlight specified areas on the print, or add a 3D effect.

The 3D effect is created directly on top of toner or on laminated surfaces due to the use of Konica Minolta print heads and another lacquer formula. With the option to print transaction data, you can create personalized materials for the most efficient individual marketing.
