In mid-August 2021, it became known about the start of sales of the electric version of the Lada Niva SUV in Europe. Such a car is produced by the German company Schmid, according to its website.
The cost of the model, called Lada Niva Elentrie, is 19,900 euros. According to the developers, when buying this electric car, car owners save about 2 thousand euros a year on fuel. In addition, electric cars are not taxed in Germany for 10 years, the company noted.
Schmid claims an electric Lada Niva range of 130 km. The car is equipped with an 80 horsepower electric motor and batteries with a total capacity of 30 kWh. The novelty uses LifePo4 batteries with 9,000 charging cycles. The company claims that this figure will be enough for 25 years of operation. In the trunk of the vehicle is a 220-volt socket.
In addition to the Russian SUV, the Dacia (Renault) Sandero was transferred to Schmid for electricity. Prior to this, the Germans also sold the third-generation green Volkswagen Golf.
Previously Czech startup MW Motors , she created an electric car based on UAZ the Hunter SUV. At the moment, the company has already opened accepting orders for the novelty. Prices for a "green" SUV called Spartan start from 39,990 euros (about 3.46 million rubles). The power of the electric installation is 160 horsepower. The engine of the car is powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 56 to 90 kilowatt hours.
At the beginning of 2021, AvtoVAZ decided to rename the Lada 4 × 4 SUV and returned it to the original name Niva, after which the car became known as Lada Niva Legend. The only changes in the design of the model are branded nameplates and new exhaust ventilation linings on the rear[1]
