2022: Announcement of a robot bomb with a grenade launcher
In mid-August 2022, the Russian company Intellect Machines presented a robot developed by it, made in the form of a dog. The product was named M-81.
According to the developers, the robotic complex within the framework of civilian use can work in the emergency zone for reconnaissance, passage through the rubble and delivery of medicines. The robot is also adapted for combat missions: aiming fire, target designation, patrolling and security, transportation of weapons and ammunition. In particular, at the presentation of the product, it was shown how the robot carries a grenade launcher from which to fire.
As RIA Novosti was told in Intellect Machines JSC, the line of robots has its own actual technological appearance - to fulfill the tasks assigned to the product, they were performed using bionics - principles, structures and mechanics characteristic of the animal world. That is why they resemble dogs, especially in dynamics.
When assembling M-81, Chinese technologies are used, the cost is 1 million rubles. The company intends to establish the production of such machines in Russia.
At the robop exhibition, M-81 was dressed in a fabric cover, so no one could see its true appearance. Some users noted the similarity of the M-81 with similar robots that are on sale. Foreign journalists, based on external similarities, suggested that the $2,700 Unitree Go1 could have been used.
The Russian company Intellect Machines works in the areas of artificial intelligence, robotics and weapons and is going to establish the production of its inventions in Russia. The deadline for the robotic dog to enter the market by mid-August 2022 is not announced.[1]
