Sales and number of sellers increase by 2 times

The group M of Video El Dorado on February 6, 2024 shared the results of the development of its own marketplace electronic engineers and related goods. At the end of 2023, the platform's turnover doubled year-on-year, which was facilitated by an increase in the number of partners, the development of the site's capabilities and the expansion of the range of new categories of complementary goods.

M.Video-Eldorado within the framework of the profile marketplace offers more than a hundred thousand partner goods. Over the year, the number of partners on the site almost doubled year-on-year to more than 800, and the assortment increased 1.5 times compared to 2022. About a third of the partners were small businesses operating on a simplified taxation system.

The assortment includes both familiar and complementary categories: power tools, garden, sports and health products, electronic toys, fireplaces, car products. In the second half of the year, modular kitchens, computer components and plumbing appeared in the assortment, which has about 23 thousand items of furniture for the bathroom, mixers, sinks, shower systems and other goods.

In addition to the online showcase, the retailer offers merchants the opportunity to demonstrate goods on the shelves of M.Video and Eldorado stores. The omnical format allows buyers to decide on the purchase of goods based on personal experience and consultations, and sellers - directly interact with the audience and expand sales tools. In 2013, 50 suppliers of TVs, embedded, garden and small household appliances, categories for health and sports took advantage of this opportunity. Over the year, sales of goods presented simultaneously on shelves and online increased by more than 15 times.

At the end of the year, the top 5 cities in terms of sales of the marketplace included, Moscow,, and St. Petersburg Novosibirsk. Turnover growth by three times in the first quarter

M.Video-Eldorado Group continues to develop its own electronics marketplace. At the end of the first quarter of 2023, the platform's turnover more than tripled compared to the same period in 2022. At the end of the first quarter of 2023, M.Video-Eldorado offers more than 120,000 partner goods within the marketplace, which is twice as much as 2022. The assortment includes both familiar household appliances, smartphones and accessories, computer equipment, and complimentary categories: power tools, garden, sports and health products, electronic toys, car products. The best categories for sales growth on the M.Video-Eldorado platform in January-March were embedded equipment, smartphones, refrigerators, televisions and power tools.

M.Video-Eldorado also continues to improve IT solutions for the convenience of its partners. Within the framework of a single personal account interface, suppliers are registered and audited, manage product cards and prices, track orders, receive analytics and recommendations for improving sales, as well as the necessary support. 2020: Launch of the marketplace

On July 23, 2020, M.Video-Eldorado announced the launch of a marketplace that will allow the retailer to expand its range of goods. Previously, the group offered products through its own self-titled offline and online stores, as well as on the site goods.ru.

Online stores "M.Video" and "Eldorado" became marketplaces

According to M.Video-Eldorado, by the end of 2020 the number of direct partnership agreements could be about 60. Part of the integration of partners will take place through the goods.ru platform, which will not require additional capital expenditures.  

With goods.ru, M.Video and Eldorado are planning to work in white label format. That is, goods and partners will be integrated into store sites using the platform and marketplace solutions.

The head of Infoline Analytics, Mikhail Burmistrov, considers it expedient to launch a marketplace to develop online sales and reduce advertising and logistics costs. According to the expert, entering new categories for the retailer would be economically inexpedient and ineffective, while the marketplace model, in which suppliers provide high-quality logistics with the ability to simultaneously deliver their own assortment, will increase sales and the average order check.[1]
