Launch of MTS own game consoles on the market

Telecommunications company MTS presented on December 27, 2024 the first specialized game console in Russia for cloud gaming MTS Fog Play worth ₽4990, which provides access to a library of more than 2 thousand computer games.

According to the MTS press service, the new console connects via an HDMI port to a TV, projector or monitor and requires a stable Internet connection at speeds from 30 Mbps for operation. The package includes a wireless controller, remote control, power adapter and HDMI cable.

MTS Cloud Gaming Director Ilya Tselikov stressed that the monthly audience of the MTS Fog Play service already exceeds 100 thousand users.

The set-top box is equipped with a powerful Amlogic S905Y4 chipset, 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The device supports Full HD resolution with a refresh rate of 60 frames per second in gaming mode, and the controller's charge lasts for 6 hours of continuous play.

The console operating system is optimized for MTS Fog Play cloud gaming and includes a special game mode. In addition to gaming capabilities, the console supports watching movies and TV channels in 4K resolution through the pre-installed KION app and other Android TV apps.

The MTS Fog Play gaming platform is built on the principle of distributed foggy gaming, which allows you to remotely rent a computer with the necessary power to run demanding games. Player progress is automatically saved in the MTS Second Memory cloud storage, which provides the ability to continue the game from the last save location on any supported device.

The first batch of MTS Fog Play game consoles has been released in a limited edition and is available for purchase on the Ozon marketplace.^[1]

The company has a number of technical requirements for their devices: the model of the existing video card should be Nvidia GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 580 and higher, the operating system Windows 10 or 11, the connection speed from 20 Mbps to the incoming and outgoing connection.^[2]
