Launch of pharmacy marketplace
Magnit, one of the largest Russian retailers, has launched a pharmacy marketplace based on the Magnit Pharmacy format. This was announced on August 1, 2024 by the press service of the company.
According to the retailer, now on the website and in the mobile application "Magnet: Promotions and Delivery" in the "Pharmacy" section, buyers have access not only to the range of the network, but also to the goods of partner companies. The first partner of Magnit Pharmacy was one of the leading Russian pharmaceutical distributors - Pulse.
Thanks to the connection of the partner, the number of items available for online ordering increased from 4 thousand to 15 thousand items. Orders will be delivered to any Magnit Pharmacy throughout the geography of the network's presence. Delivery times will average from one to three days, depending on the region. At the same time, the minimum order amount is not set, and delivery for buyers will remain free.
Magnit Pharmacy plans to attract another major pharmaceutical distributor to the project by the end of 2024. In addition, the company is considering cooperation with other partners in organizing the delivery of orders to their points.
By August 2024, Magnit Pharmacy unites a network of 1,000 retail outlets and an online channel. The order of goods from the network's own assortment is available for receipt 30 minutes after registration in any convenient for the buyer "Magnit Pharmacy."
Dauren Abeuov, director of e-commerce development at Magnit Pharmacy, noted that working on a marketplace model will allow the company to significantly expand its range and improve its supply to buyers. According to him, pharmaceutical distribution partners will be able to receive additional income and increase the efficiency of logistics thanks to cooperation with Magnit Pharmacy[1]
Integration with the Magnet application
Magnit has integrated the Magnit Pharmacy format into its mobile application, which combines delivery services from stores, a marketplace, a virtual loyalty card and useful content for customers (information about discounts and promotions, recipes, etc.). The company announced this on May 30, 2024.
In addition to ordering products and demanded non-food products from convenience stores, supermarkets, superstores and drogerie stores, an order from Magnit Pharmacy with a pickup function is now available in the Magnit mobile application. At the first stage, some users of the Magnit application have an online order service from pharmacies, and in the coming weeks the service will be available to all users.
The Magnit application presents the entire range of offline pharmacies - on average up to 4 thousand. Launch pickup via Delivery Club

The company launched a drug booking service in the fall of 2020. The pilot project was implemented in just 2.5 months on the basis of pharmacies in Moscow and the Moscow region.
