On January 23, 2019 the Mail.ru Group company reported that the service of free backup earned from the platform of cloud services Mail.Ru Cloud Solutions (MCS). the functionality will ensure smooth operation of IT infrastructures of developers, providers of online services and e-commerce of business.

According to the company, backup helps to react quickly to incidents and to recover the failed servers and all IT infrastructure after failures. The free service MCS will be able automatically to do complete backup of virtual machines, including disks and a configuration. In case of need each virtual machine will be recreated in a status, ready to work.

Service is free, payments are levied only for the amount of the stored backups. All backups are located in S3 - the compatible object storage Mail.Ru Cloud Solutions created for work with large volumes of data. Thus, backup becomes one of functions of cloud services that allows to refuse the isolated suppliers of similar services.

Process of backup can be made manually or to configure automatic carrying out according to the schedule. In settings of automatic copying it is possible to set the maximum quantity of the stored backups. The expected amount which will be in storage according to internal forecasts will reach 40%.
