McAfee Family Protection

The McAfee company announced the new version of the product McAfee Family Protection iPhone, iPod touch and iPad Edition. This tool kit will allow parents to control network activity of the children going on-line from mobile devices of production of Apple company.

According to AdMob company for 2010, about 65% of users of iPod touch and 13% of owners of iPhone devices did not reach 17-year age. Researchers also established that the number of minor owners of smartphones almost twice exceeds number of the teenagers owning the personal computer. According to a sociological research of McAfee company, 85% of teenagers go on-line not from the house. 28% of participants without effort establish new connection and communicate with strangers. And more than a third of respondents keep the activity a strict secret and never tell parents about the sites visited by them.

New edition McAfee Family Protection offers a standard set of means of parent control, from access control mechanisms in network to enhanced capabilities of filtering of the websites and search queries. The program will automatically block resources which contents are recognized improper for children and teenagers. The user given administrator authority will also be able to fill up with own hand the list of the resources undesirable to visit. At any time the parent administrator will be able to obtain detailed statistical information on Internet activity of the child, such as lists of the visited sites and the general time of stay in network.

Function of blocking of Internet access in certain hours will help parents to prohibit visit of the websites by children at night or during school lessons. Also the product includes means of tracking which will allow to set the current coordinates of the device equipped with the module GPS.
