2019: Representation of a chipset with support of Wi-fi 6 + Bluetooth
On January 9, 2019 the MediaTek company announced a chipset for support of the last generation of Wi-fi technology — Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) — for house and corporate wireless network services. It will support the whole series of products, including wireless access points, routers, gateways and repeaters, providing faster and reliable connection of devices of the smart home.
Chipsets of MediaTek Wi-fi 6 support configurations 2x2 and 4x4 which are compatible to the most modern standards. They also have flexible architecture so will be able to support advanced functions when Wi-fi specification 6 is finally approved in 2019.
Users trust our chipsets for control of their favourite intelligent devices. And now with support of the last generation of Wi-fi 6 we provide even more reliable and smooth connection. We will continue to develop innovations and to offer the consumer and corporate markets the most perfect technologies and standards. For January, 2019 MediaTek takes the leading positions among producers of chipsets for TVs, stream devices, smart columns, devices with voice actuation and tablets.
MediaTek chipset compatible to Wi-fi protocol 6 offers producers of devices several advantages which are based on use of specification 802.11ax, including:
- Support of multiple access with orthogonal frequency demultiplication (OFDMA) increases efficiency and power of wireless network devices and guarantees the sufficient width of the channel for voice transmission and video and also stable operation of applications for social networks and games using the scheduler.
- The Multi-User MIMO technology (MU-MIMO) increases capacity of the channel at simultaneous service of several working devices.
- The Target Wake Time function (TWT, preset time of awakening) defines exact time spans when clients sleep or are awake, helping IoT-devices to lower energy consumption and to increase battery operating time duration.
- The Spatial Reuse protocol allows access points to divide width of the channel on the basis of intelligent solutions.
Along with compliance to the standard of the last Wi - Fi - the MediaTek protocol also proposes the built-in solutions to make the user experience more perfect. The technology of the MediaTek connection complemented with OFDMA and 1024QAM allows to avoid collisions at data transmission. She will re-plan sending data to many users and provides higher information transmission rate to avoid delays during the online games or broadcast of video.
This technology also ensures more effective simultaneous operation of Wi-fi and Bluetooth in the last devices using the combined Wi-fi chip 6 + Bluetooth to guarantee effective use of a range at simultaneous wireless work.
MediaTek also supports and directs deployment of the Wi-fi Alliance EasyMesh standard for an expanded Wi-Fi-covering. The family of chipsets of the smart home will be compatible MediaTek to EasyMesh. The specified standard expands a Wi-Fi-signal for universal access of the house or even in the yard.
