On July 17, 2017 Microsoft provided a management system for the smartphone for gestures using normal sunglasses under the name GlassHands.
The unusual concept of interaction of the person with electronic gadgets was developed by research division of corporation — Microsoft Research: the control of the tablet or smartphone is performed using the movements of a finger on a surface or in air. At the same time the user needs no additional hardware, except the most normal sunglasses.
"Tracking of the movement of a hand comes thanks to capture by the front camera of the smartphone of reflection from glasses of glasses. Thus, the field of recognition considerably extends in comparison with use, for example, of the smartphone camera directly" — explained in the company.
Scenarios of application
In general several scenarios of use of technology are offered. For example, it can be useful during the work with cards or drawings: earlier similar actions were possible only by means of the additional modified hardware or on big touch displays, it is possible just to use any convenient surface now.
One more scenario of use — in a situation when it is inconvenient to use a finger for control of the smartphone, GlassHands will allow to change compositions or to perform other actions with the device using gestures in air.
According to Microsoft, the project does not exist in the form of a final product yet.
