Microsoft SurfaceConstellations

The research division of Microsoft developed the SurfaceConstellations program which allows to integrate several devices in a single working system with convenient data output. Besides, she allows to create quite tangible objects — binding modules for fastening of mobile devices to each other.

Having picked up convenient location of screens in the special program, the user receives a file set with drawings of binding modules. If near at hand there is a 3D-printer, then such drawings can be sent to printing as if the document. At the exit a set of fastenings which connect tablets among themselves under different corners turns out.

If desired process of a configuration can be missed, having used already ready and in advance tested schemes. They carry the names "Wall", "Bridge", "Book", "Board" and so on — all their more than two tens.

In addition to Microsoft Surface tablets it is possible to include in the configuration also structures of other producers — including iPad and iPhone. So, one of examples of the most difficult working surfaces includes four tablets and phone.

Researchers note that it is convenient to connect several displays not only for increase in total area, but also in order that it is easier to be guided in information output to them. When one function is assigned to each screen, it is easy to remember, where to look to use.
