Mitel Applications Suite

In Mitel arsenal — the ready hardware and software systems Mitel Communications Director and Border Gateway and also a set of the software Mitel Applications Suite intended for creation of the IP telephony based on commercially available servers. Both the SIP standard, and own protocol of unified communications is supported. The latest version of a system with a prefix of Virtual allows to build the distributed telephone complexes which work at the VMware platform, as allows to call the solution of the company cloud. At the same time the Mitel servers not only play a role of program switches (softswitch), but also manage flows of phone and video calls.

The most wide functionality for the organization of communication is concluded in the modular Mitel Applications Suite platform. The company offers a set of modules for the organization of unified communications, remote work, the organization of technical support and contact center, carrying out audio-and web conferences and the solution of other tasks of business users. Customers can select several options of delivery of the software: IP-UATS, software for the Sun/Oracle servers, HP, Dell or IBM, or in the form of a ready hardware and software system. Solutions are under construction on the basis of open standards, it allows to use components not only Mitel, but also third-party producers that often gives the chance to connect the devices which are already available for the enterprise to a system.

Besides, Mitel itself makes IP phones which, being connected to a local network and are properly configured, perform functions of the telephone set, but with ampler opportunities. In particular, for such telephone set it is possible to write the most different corporate applications. The company also offers the tubes working on Wi-fi technology and which are connected to network through the base (connection and with bases of other phones is possible). Using these devices it is possible to build a wireless network of the IP telephony in the company. One more important property: phones of this kind, getting to corporate network, switch to work with corporate network, and at an exit from Wi-Fi area of coverage, without losing touches, pass to work with a mobile network. Such scenario, on the one hand, allows to reside in touch, and with another — to save on mobile calls.

One more activity of Mitel is the TeleCollaboration technology integrating telepresence and the system of collective work with documents. It is characteristic that in the company do not insist on that the system of telepresence was under construction on products of one producer: thanks to open standards practically all components of the room can be replaced with analogs. An exception is actually the software for the organization of telepresence. Mitel codecs minimize the bandwidth necessary for transfer of HD video; for example, for the organization of a session of telepresence the company recommends to use the channel of 2.5 Mbps while the competing technologies steadily work for 5 Mbps. As a result it is possible to reduce the cost of the equipment of the room and operating expenses considerably, to the maximum using the components which are already purchased for a video conferencing.
