2023: Beginning of laptop deliveries from DIT Moscow

On February 20, 2023, it became known about the start of deliveries by the Moscow Department of Information Technologies (DIT) of laptops under its own brand - MosTech. Laptop computers are equipped with an operating system called "M OS," which is also a trademark of the capital's department.

The fact that DIT began to supply laptops to Moscow schools under its own brand was reported on February 20, 2023 by CNews, citing its sources. One of the interlocutors said that these devices are domestic assembly. At the same time, he does not know the actual manufacturer of the equipment.

According to CNews, M OS was created on the basis of the Alt Linux distribution by several dozen developers. The publication says that the OS began to be installed on school equipment in the summer of 2022. This coincides with the time of registration of the Mos.OS trademark.

The Moscow Department of Information Technology has registered many trademarks for a wide range of microelectronics, electronics and software. Among them are Mos.Zavod (microprocessors, peripheral equipment), Mos.Tech (computers and processors), Mos.Dev (devices), Mos.OS (OS), Mos.App (applications), as well as Mos.Office (office applications) and Mos.VKS (VKS systems). Various spelling is provided, for example, "Mos.App," "MosTech," etc.

Most of the developers surveyed by CNews on the Russian market believe that the department, as in the case of M OS, makes "new" products based on Open Source. They can also "brand" the development of some vendor. But as representatives of the developers of the Trukonf, Vinteo, IVA Technologies, VideoMost Aerospace Forces told the publication, DIT did not contact them about the creation of the Aerospace Forces.[1]
