2025: Launch of Mass Production

On November 26, 2025, on the day of the opening of the new shipbuilding enterprise Moskovskaya Verf, the keels of the Moscow 1.0 passenger electric ships with a capacity of 56 people were laid. Electric vessels are designed to operate on regular river routes.

This was reported by the press service of the Moscow government. The production capacity of the shipyard allows the production of up to 40 ships per year. The company is capable of simultaneously assembling ships of various types: electric ships of the Moscow series (1.0, 2.0, 3.0), the Moscow Golden Ring cruise ship, as well as unmanned boats to patrol the waters of the Moscow River.

Mass production of electric ships for river transportation launched in Moscow

In the coming years, the Moscow government plans to purchase about 40 modern electric ships. The relevance of this project is due to the need to update the pleasure fleet: during the summer navigation period, more than 130 ships with an average service life of about 40 years are involved. The organization of the production of electric ships "Moscow 3.0" with a capacity of 150-250 passengers will significantly speed up this process.

For 2027, it is planned to lay a modern hybrid cruise ship "Moscow Golden Ring" 110 m long to work on the tourist route of the same name.

By 2030, it is projected to launch seven regular river electric transport routes, which will serve 67 new ships, and 11 excursion and pleasure routes with 42 electric ships. The total fleet of electric ships produced by the Moscow Shipyard will exceed 100 units.

The implementation of the project will increase the annual passenger traffic by river transport to 7 million people, of which 4 million will be on regular routes. Passenger traffic will cover the entire water area of the Moscow River within the city.[1]
