2022: Start of serial production of autopilots for agricultural machinery
At the end of August 2022, JSC Scientific and Production Association of Automation named after Academician N.A. Semikhatov (part of the state corporation Roscosmos) announced the start of mass production of autopilots for agricultural machinery. According to the developers, the new system installed on a combine, tractor, sprayer, etc., is able to increase harvest by 20-30%.
The autopilot kit, which is supplied to agricultural machinery manufacturers, consists of a terminal device, a controller, a thruster, and a set of cables. The system allows the technician to accurately move along a given trajectory. Artificial intelligence ensures the safe movement of vehicles at optimal speeds and minimizes, or completely eliminates, the human factor in terms of heading.
Scientists from the Ural Federal University took part in the development of one of the systems for unmanned control. They developed design documentation to create high-frequency short-range and long-range radars. The device allows you to avoid collision with objects that appeared on the path of transport and achieve the goal set at the beginning of the route. You can install radar in any unmanned control system for vehicles and intelligent farming systems.
According to Anton Kapustin, Deputy Director for the Development of Civilian Products of NPO Avtomatiki, with the facilities existing by the end of August 2022, the company will be able to produce about 2-3 thousand units of such equipment per year. If necessary, the output can be increased. Kapustin noted that the NGO is also working on the issue of replacing individual nodes on foreign equipment with its autopilot systems.
This is possible, and there are such requests, - he clarified (quoted by Interfax).[1] |
