2019: Announcement of Nexera UHPLC
In the middle of March, 2019 the Shimadzu company provided a new series of superhighly effective liquid Nexera UHPLC chromatographs with advanced functions on the basis of artificial intelligence and IoT. The Nexera series simplifies management of laboratory due to integration of all devices using Internet of Things that allows users to estimate easily a condition of equipment, to optimize resource allocation and to reach higher capacity.
The Nexera series provides long fault-free service of the equipment, and all workflows are completely automated from start of the chromatograph before switching off. Operators can configure Nexera start at the appointed time that the device executed automatic cleaning in advance, initial check and was ready to carrying out analyses by the beginning of the working day when employees arrive to laboratory.
Besides, the FlowPilot system provides gradual increase of flow rate, reducing the probability of damage of columns. Nexera also has functions of automatic diagnostics and automatic recovery of settings which allow the device to monitor pressure fluctuations for identification of anomalies.
Remote monitoring of a mobile phase in real time allows personnel of laboratory to start timely batches of analyses and to reveal violations. Besides, Nexera monitors use of supplies and sends notifications about need of replacement of parts that allows users to support the maximum capacity of a system. The Nexera series allows users to estimate chromatograms in real time directly from the web browser on the smart device. Also Nexera consumes 80% less electric power in standby mode, thereby considerably cutting down operating costs.
In the whole Nexera increases efficiency due to automation of workflows and the maximum performance review.[1]
2017: Announcement
In September, 2017 Shimadzu Corporation provided the system of a highly effective liquid chromatography Nexera FV intended for the analysis of multicomponent medicinal samples on solubility.
Nexera FV is the cornerstone of the technician of two-dimensional chromotography which principle is in separation of a sample consistently on two columns with contrast properties that significantly increases efficiency of a chromotographic system.
The new equipment including the pumps, columns switching cranes and detectors is controlled DT Solution specialized software. A system can be used for studying of those samples which analysis by means of a traditional liquid chromatography is difficult owing to a complex array: pharmaceutical medicines, hydrolyzates of proteins, extracts of foodstuff and raw materials for their production, synthetic polymers, etc.
First of all, the Shimadzu Nexera FV model is intended for assessment of solubility of components of irregular dosage forms. Function of automatic delivery of the elyuat in the LC block allows a system to work without participation of the person — for example, it can automatically join at night to repeat solubility tests. As a result time of testing is reduced from two o'clock at manual selection (taking into account time for preparation, selection and to data analysis) to only three minutes.
Depending on type of dosage forms two operation modes are provided in Shimadzu Nexera FV: analysis of fractions and direct analysis. The first is applied to sampling with the minimum 5-minute intervals in tests for dissolution of quickly decaying medicines. The direct analysis is used when the sampling interval makes of 30 minutes.[2]
