2023: Recall of 800 thousand defective cars that have an engine jammed while driving

At the end of February 2023, Nissan announced the recall of more than 800 thousand cars in Canada and the United States. The reason for the service campaign was the problem with the folding ignition key, follows from the data of the American and Canadian transport departments.

According to Nissan, SUVs are equipped with folding keys with a knife, which may not fully open. When driving with a partially folded key, the driver can touch the key fob, inadvertently turning off the engine. The manufacturer found out that the folding ignition key can eventually stop being fixed in the extended position. This can lead to loss of engine power and brakes, and airbags may not work in the event of an accident. In such a situation, even with an accidental impact on it, the engine can turn off, which will lead to an accident. The company says it is not aware of any accidents or injuries caused by the issue as of February 2023.

Renault The review includes Rogue crossovers of 2014-2020, as well as Rogue Sport and Qashqai 2017-2022. How the problem will be solved in is cars not specified by early March 2023.

Car owners will be notified, Nissan said, in March 2023 through an interim letter telling them not to attach anything else to the key ring. They will then receive another letter asking them to give up their SUVs for repairs. The automaker says owners who don't have their keys in the open position should contact their dealers.[1]

2021: Start of production of Nissan cars with first-level autopilots in Russia

In early April 2021, Nissan announced the start of production in Russia of Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail crossovers equipped with the ProPilot first-level autopilot.

This system, according to the Japanese manufacturer, provides cars with overtaking and braking on the road, maintaining the necessary speed and safe distance to the car in front, as well as performing a stop in traffic and a smooth start after the start of movement in front of the car.

Despite the fact that the car can independently perform all the listed actions, the driver must constantly hold his hands on the steering wheel and be ready to take control in the event of an emergency.

Nissan noted that the systems of the ProPilot complex were adapted to Russian operating conditions and passed a number of tests - about 30 thousand kilometers went on cars along the routes from Crimea and. Vladivostok

With it, you can control various functions of the car remotely and track them. For example, start the engine, control the headlights and sound signal, track the locations of the car and find out the estimated range.

The timing of the start of sales of Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail by April 5, 2021 has not been announced. Prices for crossovers in the basic versions start from 1,477,000 and 1,824,000 rubles, respectively.

The Nissan Qashqai crossover is available in Russia with a 1.2-liter 115-horsepower turbo engine and a 2.0-liter engine with 144 horsepower.
