Compatibility with "Red OS"

The companies "Red Soft" and "Open technologies of virtualization" within partnership held testing for compatibility of the products. On October 7, 2020 the Red Soft company reported about it. Developers confirmed full-fledged and smooth operation storage systems "OTV Aurora" (productions "Open Technologies of Virtualization") from operating system RED OS (production Red Soft). Earlier the compatibility of RED OS and hyper convergent infrastructure of OTV ev3 was confirmed.

Partnership of RED SOFTWARE and "Open Technologies of Virtualization" brings not only successful results in the testing plan of products on compatibility, but also allows to create the complete import-independent solutions focused on the customer's requests, – Rustamov Rustam, the deputy CEO of RED SOFT commented.

Announcement of domestic software-defined DWH "OTV Aurora"

On September 17, 2020 the Open Technologies of Virtualization company announced creation of a domestic software-defined storage system "OTV Aurora". In Rospatent this development was registered in July of the 2020th. The author specifies the founder of Open Technologies of Virtualization Dmitry Gavrilov, and the owner – his company.

In the solution description in the database of the computer programs it is said that "OTV Aurora" represents network system of data storage (Network Attached Storage). And its scope declares information storage in the high-performance information systems intended for processing of crucial information, personal data. In more detail about functions and the principles of work of the solution – in the section below.

In "Open technologies of virtualization" of one of distinctive features of the new development call a total failure from use of the open source software. For creation of network DWH without open source software the company had to solve the problems connected as with implementation directly of logic of data storage, and implementation of a number of the known specifications of data access protocols, speak in "Open technologies of virtualization". In particular, it is about implementation of a number of the RFC specifications describing the protocol of remote access to file systems (NFS v2 and v3), explain in the company.

We for a long time work with open source software and for ourselves came to a conclusion that entering of big changes into the source code is rather labor-consuming task, but at the same time still there is no possibility of 100% of control over "source codes". At some point we understood that use of the open source software does not accelerate and does not simplify development. Often there is a need of creation of own branch of development which cannot be supported by community, - the CEO of "Open technologies of virtualization" Tatyana with a surname, as at the founder of the company - Gavrilova says.

According to her, this fact formed a basis for conducting completely own development in which even the principal, low-level components and protocols are implemented by the company independently.

We can tell surely our customers that "OTV Aurora" is an absolute Russian development, - the CEO of "Open technologies of virtualization" added.

At the end of 2018 the register of domestic software of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications included the hyper convergent platform "OTV ev3" developed by the same company. Tatyana Gavrilova told TAdviser that implementation of DWH "OTV Aurora" will be included in structure of hyper convergent infrastructure "by OTV ev3" where it will force out the implementation of access and storage used at the moment using NFS on the basis of Open Source.

But first of all for implementation of the new product "Open Technologies of Virtualization" considers the possibility of signing of OEM agreements within which the rights to the intellectual property created by the company will be assigned, Gavrilova says.

In further plans of the company – creation of big family of the storage systems capable to meet requirements to storage of both the small companies, and large corporations, reported in "Open technologies of virtualization".

The CEO of the company also told TAdviser that development "OTV Aurora" was conducted only at the expense of own means and resources, external investments were not attracted. Earlier development of hyper convergent software "OTV ev3" was performed with assistance of Fund of assistance to development of small forms of the enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere in the amount of 2 million rubles. At the same time the total costs of creation of the solution made about 30 million rubles, CNews^[1] wrote^[2].

According to base of legal persons " circuit.focus ", in 2019 revenue of "Open technologies of virtualization" made about 7 million rubles, net profit – about 6 million rubles.

The company in the Communard, in the apartment is officially registered. At the same time on its official site in the section of contacts the St. Petersburg phone number is given. In the reference book of the organizations of St. Petersburg it is written that "Open technologies of virtualization" are located at Sinopskaya Embankment, 52, St. Petersburg. It is the address of business center.

Tatyana Gavrilova explained TAdviser that, beginning the activity, the company actively cooperated with one of the St. Petersburg integrators. It represented the interests of "Open technologies of virtualization" in the field of sales therefore on the website number from St. Petersburg is specified. But now the situation changes - the company has also Moscow integrators, she says. The new technical website where this number will not be any more prepares for release.

Follows from base " circuit.focus " that the average number of staff of this company in 2019 was two persons. In the company answered a question of TAdviser of the one who developed "OTV Aurora" that development was conducted by forces of Otkrytye tekhnologii virtualizatsii LLC – "the team of adherents working together with the moment of formation of the company". So since 2016.

Part of a command – salaried employees, other part – so far in combination. And the base of legal entities gives information on average structure. Finally, the small number of employees does not affect the received result. The main thing is an experience and knowledge which we have, - told TAdviser in "Open technologies of virtualization".

The owner's figure of "Open technologies of virtualization" of Dmitry Anatolyevich Gavrilov seems to not less mysterious, than line-up of the team of developers. Tatyana Gavrilova asked TAdviser a subject of the owner of the company to lower in general.

It is not registered as the founder or the cofounder of any other firms according to the USRLE. Was not in open sources of information on it except that it is stated by the author of several developments which owner is "Open technologies of virtualization". Functionality "OTV Aurora"

The program represents the network system of data storage (Network Attached Storage) providing an information access, its change and storage in the approved status for the realization account of the mechanism of copying at record (Copy-On-Write/COW)^[3]. As a result when reading information its copy only for reading placed in a program cache is created, and all changes of information are consistently brought in the flowing, specially selected memory bank.

In process of filling of a memory bank, the collected changes of information register in the end of the magazine. The magazine is a special section on the information medium (a hard magnetic disk drive or the flash drive) in which all earlier executed changes consistently remain. After data recording from a memory bank in the magazine, final fixing of changes by record of a unique identifier in the special section of the information medium providing its long-term storage is made.

Thus the identifier acts as a point of coordination of a status of information and provides automatic transition from one approved status to another, minimizing the probability of damage of information at machine failures.

The algorithm of the program will transform the accidental nature of record inherent in the majority of transaction workloads, to consecutive, thereby significantly increasing performance of input-output of information due to more effective use of capacity of information media, such as drives on hard magnetic disk drives.

The scope of the program declares information storage in the high-performance information systems intended for processing of crucial information, personal data.
