2016: Oracle Exata X6 Database Machine Release
On April 5, 2016, Oracle announced the release of the optimized software and hardware complex Oracle Exata X6 Database Machine. According to the corporation, PAC has high performance, capacity and availability.
Oracle Exata X6 includes processors, Intel Xeon InfiniBand network connections, horizontally scalable servers Oracle Exata Storage Server on the flash platform (all-flash) or combining disk storage and flash memory, exclusive software Oracle Exata Storage Server.
Four of the world's five largest banks, telecom companies, and retailers use the Oracle Exata platform because it provides significant improvements in OLTP processing, analysis, and mixed workloads. The new Oracle Exata X6 offers the highest performance with next-generation flash memory, which competes with DRAM performance, as well as a significant increase in the speed and reliability of OLTP processing. Exactly the same advanced Oracle Exata technologies are now available in the cloud to deliver the world's most efficient cloud database service. The Oracle Exata X6 High Capacity configuration uses today's 8TB helium-filled hard drives to increase the total capacity of the disk subsystem in the rack to more than 1.3 PB. In addition, the built-in intelligent cache mechanism in Flash memory provides performance at both the Flash drive level and the cost of disk memory.
In the Oracle Exata X6 Extreme Flash (all-flash) configuration, each rack contains NVMe flash drives with a total capacity of more than 358 TB. This size of Flash memory exceeds the maximum capacity of competing All-Flash storage arrays available on the market today. With multiple racks, you can scale Oracle Exata Flash to more than 6 PB.
Oracle Exata Hybrid Columnar Compression increases the capacity of the storage subsystem by up to 10 times, on average, enabling improved price/capacity ratios for large data stores and consolidated database workloads.
Oracle Exata X6 performs more than 5.6 million I/O per second per rack in OLTP processes.
Oracle Exata Integrated Fault Detection Stack support provides non-stop OLTP processing, I/O redirection, bypassing failed devices in seconds, and quick resolution. Database In-Memory fault tolerance provides an additional layer of protection for the most performance-sensitive loads in mixed environments.
