2015: Oracle GoldenGate for Big Data

Oracle GoldenGate for Big Data is a Hadoop-based technology that allows users to transfer unstructured real-time data from heterogeneous transactional systems to big data systems, including Apache Hadoop, Apache Hive, Apache HBase and Apache Flume. It enables companies to strengthen big data analytics initiatives by integrating existing real-time architectures into big data solutions and keeping big data storage content relevant to production systems.

2014: GoldenGate 12c (12.1.2.1)

On November 25, 2014, Oracle announced the release of an update to version GoldenGate 12c (12.1.2.1).

Unprecedented data growth makes it very difficult to use information in strategic business decision-making and competitive advantage. To maximize data benefits and the benefits of the latest technologies, companies need to be able to move data between heterogeneous IT environments and firewalls with minimal latency.

Oracle GoldenGate 12c helps integrate real-time information, replicates transaction data between the IT environment deployed in the enterprise and the cloud.

Among the new features of the advanced version of Oracle GoldenGate 12c:

  • Oracle Streams Migration Tools - The new Streams2OGG functionality helps Oracle Streams customers migrate to Oracle GoldenGate and leverage its latest capabilities: Integrated Extract, Integrated Delivery, and a powerful conflict resolution system.

  • Support for IBM Informix - Oracle GoldenGate 12c supports real-time data collection and delivery for the latest versions of the Informix DBMS on all major platforms. Support is extended to Oracle GoldenGate Veridata - IBM Informix clients can now migrate, integrate, and replicate large amounts of real-time data non-stop for heterogeneous business environments.

  • Compatibility with SOCKS5 - Oracle GoldenGate 12c uses SOCKS compatibility client settings for data transmission, allowing clients to replicate between environments deployed directly in the enterprise and cloud without opening an additional external VPN connection.

  • Support for Big Data - Oracle GoldenGate Adapter for Java provides integration with Oracle NoSQL, Apache Hadoop, Apache HDFS, Apache HBase, Apache Storm, Apache Flume, Apache Kafka and other systems, allows you to implement data streaming to target applications of high-quality business information processing for improvement.

  • Restore Inconsistent Data - In addition to the ability to compare heterogeneous databases and report data discrepancies without disrupting business operations, Oracle GoldenGate Veridata 12c provides the ability to recover inconsistent data.

  • Capture Changes from Oracle Active Data Guard - Oracle Active Data Guard clients who want to eliminate the impact of replication on the work environment can use Oracle GoldenGate 12c on backup systems to capture real-time changes.

  • Simplified Application Upgrade - The new version simplifies the process of updating applications for clients using Oracle Database Edition-Based Redefinition by reconciling updates and bringing the target database to the appropriate version.

  • Improved management and monitoring - Customers using the new version are also able to start and stop processes, edit parameter files, collect information about operations, and diagnose problems with Oracle Enterprise Manager Plug-In 12.1.3, which is part of Oracle Management Pack for Oracle GoldenGate 12c.

2013: GoldenGate 12c

On October 22, 2013, Oracle announced the release of a new version of GoldenGate 12c.

In GoldenGate 12c, the delivery of data to the receiver database during replication is doubled.

Enhanced support for data sources - GoldenGate works with the newest versions of Sybase and MySQL.

2012: Oracle GoldenGate 11g Release 2

Oracle announced in the summer of 2012 the release of Oracle GoldenGate 11g Release 2, a new version of its real-time data integration solution.

Oracle GoldenGate 11g R2 is part of the Oracle Fusion Middleware family of middleware middleware that improves business-valued information by integrating real-time data for mission-critical business applications. Oracle GoldenGate 11g R2 improves the performance of OLTP applications by freeing their reporting load (Query Offload), migrating applications without stopping between different versions of the database system and platforms, and also allows you to create fault-tolerant systems, including those operating in active-active mode, the corporation said.

According to the developers, the new version of Oracle GoldenGate 11g R2 is more efficient in terms of supporting highly loaded systems, global deployments and heterogeneous platforms, in addition, it offers advanced information security capabilities.

To ensure faster and more reliable access to enterprise-wide information, the new release improves integration with existing Oracle Applications business applications and Oracle technologies, including Oracle Database 11g, Oracle Exata Optimized Appliance, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Among the new features of Oracle GoldenGate 11g R2 in the corporation are: integrated data collection - allows you to efficiently collect changed data in systems that store large amounts of information, and in systems with high throughput due to the close integration of data collection functions with the Oracle Database 11g core; Support for compressed Oracle Advanced Compression - Allows you to collect and manipulate compressed objects in Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Exata environments Simpler and more powerful replication conflict detection and resolution functionality-reduces the time required to detect and resolve conflicts by automating the process across multiple deployed systems improved security - modern data conversion algorithms are used in data transmission and storage; full Unicode support - facilitates global deployment of Oracle GoldenGate 11g R2 and allows you to collect data from databases in multibyte character set/Unicode encoding; Enhanced platform and DBMS support - provides support for retrieving and transmitting IBM DB2 DBMS logs on iSeries systems, as well as advanced support for MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, Terata, and IBM DB2 z/OS.

The Oracle GoldenGate Plug-In for Oracle Enterprise Manager allows you to monitor and provide a consolidated view of Oracle GoldenGate 11g R2 deployed components and view detailed information about them, displaying important parameters in digital and graphical form. It also supports automatically generated notifications and service requests - all from the Oracle Enterprise Manager environment.

2010: Oracle GoldenGate 11g

Oracle GoldenGate 11g provides real-time data integration and continuous data availability for mission-critical systems with unique data collection, distribution, and delivery capabilities with minimal impact and minimal latency.

Oracle GoldenGate 11g is certified for Oracle-based operational reporting applications such as Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle PeopleSoft, and Oracle JD Edwards.

Oracle GoldenGate 11g enables the transition to next-generation Oracle applications by supporting new, additional data types. Oracle GoldenGate 11g is certified for Oracle Exata Database Machine. Oracle GoldenGate 11g now also supports data delivery to Oracle TimesTen DBMS.

Oracle GoldenGate 11g supports data capture from IBM DB2 database logs, as well as data capture from JMS messaging systems and data delivery to IBM DB2 for iSeries databases.

Oracle GoldenGate 11g for Oracle Database provides a significant reduction in recovery time for long-term transactions that are interrupted during operation. It also improves transaction tracing to help identify bottlenecks and optimize the performance of the data integration environment.
