Solaris Studio 12.4
On November 19, 2014 the Oracle corporation announced a release of the new version of development tools of Solaris Studio 12.4.
As a part of the new version the advanced tools of the analysis of the software promoting optimization of performance of applications, fast identification of errors of a memory access - it increases reliability of applications. Oracle Solaris Studio 12.4 contains also the high-performance compilers improved, based on standards with enhanced capabilities of optimization increasing performance of the applications working at the latest SPARC- and x86 systems of Oracle.
Features of the new version
- The packet of development tools of Oracle Solaris Studio is included in structure of Oracle Software in Silicon Cloud, uses functionality of Software in Silicon Application Data Integrity (ADI) for search and error correction of memory with the minimum costs.
- Oracle Solaris Studio 12.4 provides support of standard C ++ 2011. In the new version of Oracle Solaris Studio support of popular libraries Boost is implemented, the compatibility with the separated GCC libraries is provided, facilitating creation of functionally complete transferable (ported) applications.
- The module Oracle Solaris Studio Performance Analyzer is completely processed and now provides to developers unprecedented, according to developers, control over performance of applications. New features and opportunities, like convenient data structure, visualization of a time line, navigation by the code, flexible data filtering, remote data analysis and cross-architectural support significantly increase application development performance.
- Oracle Solaris Studio Code Analyzer protects applications from shortcomings of the code, including "leaks" and problems of a memory access. The tool provides fast and exact identification of the general errors of the code and uses the patented technology which classifies unchecked functions, helping to improve the general indicator of a covering of the code tests (code coverage) and, thereby, to increase reliability of applications.
- The high-performance compilers Oracle Solaris Studio support code generation for the newest generation of processors, including the Oracle SPARC M6 and T5, Fujitsu M10 servers and systems based on Intel Haswell microarchitecture. Compilers provide a 4.8-fold performance benefit in comparison with alternative open source solutions in standard industry tests.
In Oracle Solaris Studio 12.4 a set of specifications of parallel programming of OpenMP 4.0 – the newest version of the open standard of the industry OpenMP group is supported.
